Loved the 1st scene from last Thursday's episode. Getting tips from Oscar for a more pleasurable colonoscopy.

Interesting that Oscar's name is Oscar in real life.

Ya once that scene started I was like I know where this is going, and I was just laughing before the punch line hit.

that actually goes for a few of the characters that were perhaps written very vaguely at first and have seen their roles grow over time. angela, phyllis and creed also have the same first name/character name.

I have been watching The Office now whenever I have a chance, especially on Tuesdays when it has a nice flow.  For the longest time I avoid it like the plague, for that reason some of the episodes are a little scratchy at times.  I knew that Pam was with Jim, but hadn't seen how she broke up with the other guy.  All of Michael's love affair and so on.

Anyway, I like it because the characters seem pretty realistic.  The situations that occur within the characters are completely out of reach and they make Michael intelligent enough at times to make it seem like he kind of knows what he is doing.  The characters are consistent with their personalities as well.  There are some low times in the episodes too which makes it realistic with a work day.  The last few (new) episodes have been a bit depressing for me for some reason.  Still, I am loving this show and I look forward to watching the seasons to complete my own internal story of the history of the Office.

PS. Now that I have started working for the US CENSUS in an office, somehow it is not as funny.

Actually, I am pretty sure Creed's last name is the same in real life as well.

I discovered The Office a few months ago (about 5 years late, I know). At the beginning I wasn't really getting into it but little by little the dry humor and the characters became more and more interesting and since then I really enjoyed all the seasons, very consistent writing and fun episodes. Dwight Schrute is just hilarious!

I was disappointed by the 6th season, though, thought it started great, kind of sucked in the middle, but the last episodes were fun (Michael throwing images of him and body builded athletes to seduce Donna for example). The finale was OK but had no big "cliffhanger" (although it's not really needed in this TV show).

This year's finale was really odd, in that it was a good episode, but didn't have that "season finale" feel that was there for previous seasons.  It just felt like another episode.  The Office usually does well at making that last episode of the season feel special and more important.  This one had nothing, just a run of the mill storyline.

And if the rumors are true about Steve Carell not renewing his contract after Season 7, I would hope they quit while they're ahead and make it the Series finale as well.  It's on a slow downward slope anyway, as they can't recapture the comedic brilliance of Seasons 3 and 4.

There was certainly a cliffhanger in the final episode. Amy Ryan's character may be coming back for next season. I think that would be awesome.

Problem is, they added that to the ending credits segment so it probably went largely unnoticed.  In previous episodes, that mini ending segment has rarely been relevant to the plot, usually it's just a throwaway segment for an extra laugh.  For them to throw it in there as an afterthought really caused it to have a much smaller impact than it should have.

I didn't realize that it was the season finale!  I don't feel satisfied with where they left me if that's the case. :(

Season 7 started yesterday!

I liked the first episode, there were some "boring" scenes but overall its a funny episode (Michael and Dwight are excellent once again).

I was really glad to see last night's episode was an improvement over the unfunny Season 6 (last season did have its moments, but overall wasn't up to par IMO).

More importantly, old sarcastic Jim appears to be back which is a very good sign.  I think the writers realized what did and didn't work for the characters and reacted accordingly.

And Michael's hatred for Toby never gets old.  Loved the closing scene where he has to choose to either attend counseling sessions run by Toby or be fired, and is clearly leaning towards Option B.

I really feel that they should not continue the show when he leaves at the end of the season.  I think Season 8 without Steve Carell has the potential for disaster.

Yeah, Season 6 was disappointing except for the last episodes (the ones with Donna are funny).

The show really relies on Dwight and Michael in my opinion so without Steve Carell I don't know if I would even watch Season 8 (just to see what's going on without him but that's it).

The scene where Dwight establishes a "pee corner" in the elevator was hilarious. ;D

Last night's episode really sucked, I almost had trouble watching it entirely! I thought they butchered the counseling sessions between Michael and Toby, that could have been really funny but wasn't in any way. Dwight's attitude in this episode seemed totally out of character, and Pam's story was boring. One of the worst episodes of the show in my opinion, I hope it gets better next week...

Kinda surprised you liked "Nepotism" but not "Counseling" as I thought they were pretty similar in style and humor.  To each his own, but I thought last night was pretty good, especially Dwight's horribly failed attempt to be polite in the store.

And please don't use the word "worst" about future episodes, as no espisode could be worse than "Cafe Disco"...ever  :P
