Had to bring back this thread. Chris Paul's stat line tonight:

27/10/15 and 7 steals

Sure he had 4 turnovers (in 43 minutes however). But this guy is ridiculous. Since I started this thread over a week ago, he's averaged 25.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 11.6 assists and 2.4 steals in 5 games (4-1 record). Again, I ask the question, why are we only talking about BronBron and Kobe for MVP? Heck, Duncan has been getting some love lately. But what about CP3? ???

Paul is definitely putting up MVP-type numbers, and I'm sure there will be more chatter about his worthiness as the year goes on.  But I think one of the reasons there isn't as much talk about it is because the Hornets have been inconsistent this year.  After their great regular season last year, many believed that another year together, along with the addition of Posey could put them over the hump and challenge for a #1 seed out West.  But so far, that hasn't happened.  They've put up some bad showings in some big games, and gotten blown out by teams that had no business playing with them.

As the season progresses, and if the team can stay healthy, I think they'll improve their overall record (which isn't bad to begin with), and there will be more talk about CP3.  But he'll never get the recognition of LeBron and Kobe, because he's not that high-flying player that the league likes to hype up.  It doesn't mean he can't win it.  Nash showed that.  But it does mean he won't be the one getting all the hype.

Chris Paul is doing the same thing that Steve Nash did in his two MVP years. Granted they are not as fast paced as the Suns but CP has the ball at all times just like Nash did. Just about everytime they score he either gets an assist or 2-3 points.

I would put him as possibly the third best player in the league but he is basically a black steve nash with a little (or a lot) quicker hands and feet.

I love the guys game i just dont think he is much better than Steve Nash was 3 to 5 years ago.

Calling all Steve Nash haters!!!

I was impressed with him last year - until I actually saw him play

Im sorry, but I think Chris Paul is a fraud and completly overrated, considering people put him in the class of lebron/wade/kobe
first off, his defense is way below average
secondly, ive never seen a more stagnant offense than the one chris paul runs - for example - last night he had 15 assists and the entire team had 21 - and thats actually way better than it is most nights, usually the rest of the team is lucky to have 2 assists...dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, shoot or pass.he just seems like a stat padder, he doesnt do any of the little things that you dont see on the boxscore, everything he does is to stuff the stat sheet.. there are so many players in this league, who first come in and have all this hype built around them after a few good years, but over time become tottally exposed, ala Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, even steve nash etc etc...chris paul is one of those guys - I dont believe he'll ever win a thing with his style of play

Agreed. High Five!

So true about their stagnant offense, its probably a good part of the reason why they are not meeting expectations so far this year. He is a great player for sportscenter type highlights but really i'm not a huge fan of watching him play for an entire 48 minutes.

Don't get me wrong though, i still think that he is very very good. I'd actually put him 4th not 3rd. I forgot about Wade.

This might qualify as one of the most outrageous posts of the year.

Nash was purely a product of the system he played in. Suppose he was on NOLA back in his prime (a few years ago). I would say that he averages about 9-10 assists per night. Furthermore, his team barely makes the playoffs, if at all. CP3 has better stats and carried his team to the #2 seed last year and is the #4 seed this year (where's Phoenix?).

Put CP3 on the D'Antoni teams with Amare and Matrix. That dude's challenging Stockton's single season assist record (14.5 apg) and the team would have made the finals.

LOL, I dont agree...the system hes in now already allows him to hold the ball the entire shot clock and pad his stats and do whatever he wants
And noones getting to the finals with dantonis system, not even the precious Carlton Banks, oops i mean chris paul

I wish Boston had the same official scorer.  I watched most of this game and I guarantee you he never got 10 rebounds.  His assists are always padded as well.  Great player though just not as great as his box scores eludes too.

Little Fockers 1.5/10
Gulliver's Travels 1/10
Grown Ups -20/10
Tron Legacy 6.5/10
