Has anyone else noticed that Tommy has had it with Scal? Just like most of us... Everytime Scal does something wrong, Tommy and even Mike are right there on his case and putting down his decision and his low basketball IQ. Usual Tommy is the first person to support  a celtic player whether the refs made a good call or a bad one.... It doesn't matter with Scal, Tommy think he can do no right.

Example: The Kapono foul tonight. Scal made the foul immediatley and the ref said he was in the act of shooting. If any other Celtic made this foul Tommy would have been yelling at the ref. But it was Scal and Tommy called him out on it and spoke of how bad of a defensive play it was. And Mike agreed. This has been happening a lot lately. I remember another instance (dont remember what game) where Scal made and awful awful play, which resulted in Mike going, "Scal that just wasn't smart...At all" I found it to be hilarious.

Tommy and Mike know that Scal isn't doing much good, why cant Doc and Danny!!

i think that your 100% wrong with this, Tommy has been talking about his good defense for alot of the night, they were just saying how he was arguing a call where he was wrong.

It was a horrible foul.  and Scal was blatantly wrong.

maybe Tommy has finally found some objectivity.

I'd add that Gorman seemed quite thrilled with his play yesterday.

I've had no problem with Scal as of late and have no complaints about seeing more of him in the rotation even when the team is healthy.

tommy always has a soft spot for redheads....i think he like scal, but gets frustrated with his play at times (like a lot of us).  tommy HATED scals' two bonehead fouls this season where he grabbed the opponents jersey b4 the ball was even inbounded.

I have never noticed anything like that. In fact Tommy usually makes the extra effort to point out the good oints about Scal. I love Scal, but so much more when his shot goes down. Lately his play has been more relaxed and confident.

Yeah Tommy generally tries to bring out the good things Scal does.  I loved the way he filled in tonight!

How can 'Doc start scal.....ugh, he is a bone-head...! Start OBryant, at least play him now when Perk is hurt, all i can hope for is that Doc is showcasing these guys to trade them...! Scal = 6'9" O Bryant = 7'...okay....don't tell me Scal is better, and no one has seen POB play any real minutes.....no one is worse than scal, he is proof that if you play anyone long enough, they might get a little better, scal is a bit better than he was before, but so is the Iraqi army..! And why didn't doc foul toronto with 14 seconds left up by 3..is he brain dead..? Wait 4 secs, foul...duh....exchange foul shots, Doc is a very scary coach, I swear!!!!

Posts like this frustrate me.  Scal has contributed in two straight starts, has decent numbers, and the team has generally played well with him on the court.  Yet, both he and the coach that played him are being criticized, because a lazy stiff at the end of our bench didn't get playing time.  I'm baffled.

Scal does some decent things out there but he also does a ton of stupid things every game, besides missing wide open shots. He grabs guys all the time and today he grabbed Kapono lightly on a jumpshot that could have been an And 1. Thats just a dumb basketball play. Plus he constantly wastes good ball movement by holding the ball once he gets it for an open shot and upfaking and taking awkward dribbles. If he drives to the hoop it is usually awkward and results in a charge. Thats not to say he is completely useless but trust me, he can be annoying out ther.

Scal is a slug, but he should be the starting center while Perk is recovering from another right shoulder injury (god he seems to get half a dozen of those a season). So Scal from SoCal (get it?) should be named Big Red III (after Cowens and Walton).

If you can't appreciate the things that Scal brings out there on the floor you really don't understand basketball. All you Scal haters are just jumping on the bandwagon bashing a good guy who is a great teammate due to the fact that Danny overpaid him. If he was making veteran minimum we wouldn't have anywhere near the amount of negativity. If the guy didn't have the physical traits (red hair and pasty with a "not so hardened" physique) people also wouldn't pick on him as much. That's why the "Scalabrine" chants happen. Quite honestly these guys are a bunch of bullies looking for someone to pick on.

Scal is a very good defender who can come in and play a couple positions. He rarely hurts the team when he is out there. When he is shooting well he can be very valuable. The guy knows how to play and plays within himself 99% of the time. Keep it up Scal! You played solid out there and can say one thing even the big three can't. When you start for us we are undefeated.
