Enough is enough folks.  Everyone knows that Scal is not the most graceful or jaw dropping bench guy in the NBA.  However, the incessant taunting of a player on our own team is really starting to grind my gears (to put it lightly).

This season I have gone to 4 games.  Every time Scals goes to the scorers table this taunt comes from his home crowd.   Enough is enough.  Night in and night out Scals brings 110% to the table.  He is always hustling and always (even when he messes up) a contributor to the team.  This is something that roughly 60% of NBA bench guys do NOT contribute.

Also, enough with the remarks on the guys body.  The last game I went to (C's Wiz) Scals was outhustling half the people on the court.  And if you watched last year, you can see a noticeable difference in his general physical shape, as well as his speed.

It wouldn't really bother me if it didn't noticeably affect his game.  Having your home crowd ride on your every minute your in the game is embarrasing and frustrating.  Some say that it is not a taunt, but it clearly is.  Shouted out during games by drunk frat boys who know nothing about basketball and echoed by the mindless sheep in the crowd.

Give Scals a break.  Seriously he's a Celtic through and through.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
Night in and night out Scals brings 110% to the table.  He is always hustling...

so does my washing machine.

i know what you're saying, but you can't mandate this from the fans.  fact is, many people don't like his game, feel he is an overpaid stiff and brings nothing to this team.  i'm counting down the days until he's gone because he's worthless, and i'm amazed at the lengths people will go to actually defend this stiff...

TP for Andy.

I still don't agree with this.  If he was out there... lazily playing and clearly not giving a [dang]... sure... boo the hell out of him.  But he isn't.  And to be honest, I feel that a ton of this Scalabrine hazing comes simply from the fact that he looks like a goon.  My point is... noone is helping the situation by mocking the game out of him.

I wouldn't boo him just for stepping on the court, and I don't think that most hardcore fans would too - but I think the kneejerk reaction from casual fans is to boo the guy that doesn't look like he belongs.  110% of not, he's an easy target, and no matter what, he's going to have that bullseye on him.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

The team was +15 with Scal in the game today, so he couldn't have hurt us too much, huh?

This is exactly my point.  And going to games hearing these "fans" harrass a player in Green just boils my blood.  My point is... boo Mark Blount.. boo Raef... but Scals works, and works hard...

How does Scal hustle less than everyone else?  Any time he's out there he's busting his ass.

I know i am not the biggest Scal fan, but he is doing a fine job this season. The problem is that we shouldn't be needing him. The fact that he was the starting C tonight means that the team needs to sign someone soon.

In any case, he is better than O'Bryant and Davis. And wow, it is strange to defend Scal. ::)

I agree with you,and if there's any blame to be had here,it should be directed at D.Ainge, and owners.Knowing that Perk had a recent shoulder operation(off season)knew the chances of him having some problems are high during the regular season. They didn't get anyone worthwhile to back Perk up in case of emergency.tp for your post.

Scal started like 9 games last year when KG was out. I have no problem with this. In fact I think most of his problems are mental ie confidence. His confidence is definitely hurt when fans chant his name, he has said so in the news media that this distracts him. If he got consistent playing time, he would be a consistent contributor and I think his 3point shooting percentage would climb. He just needs to regain his confidence.

If I have one gripe about Scal, it's I wish he would get more rebounds. However he does often do a surprising job defending forwards that are faster than him.
