Below Boston.com just reported TA re-injured an ankle injury.  First off if TA is trying to play through an injury I'd rather sit out until he gets his ankle back to 100%.   It's obvious he needs to feel physically ok in order for him to play well.   Anyway I'd like Gabe to get some real meaningful minutes tonight as we need to find out sooner or later preferably before the trading deadline/buyout stage if he can really help us for the stretch run.  Tonight I think would be a good game as any to give him a shot as I think the Bobcats play a little small with Felton and Augustin together at times.

Celtics guard Tony Allen will miss the game against the Charlotte Hornets tonight with a right ankle strain. Allen, injured during the Celtics' 100-88 loss to New York Sunday, could also miss the Celtics' home game against Houston Wednesday.

"I re-injured it driving into the middle when I got called for traveling," Allen said after viewing the Celtics' pre-game shootaround at the Time Warner Cable Arena Tuesday. "I tweaked it and I should have left the game but I tried to play on it. Hopefully, it will be better tomorrow."

Celtic coach Doc Rivers said the involvement of Gabe Pruitt and Brian Scalabrine would likely be increasing, regardless of Allen's status.

"We have to figure out a way to get (Scalabrine) on the floor," Rivers said. "He does a lot of good things for us."

I've been waiting for Pruitt to get his chance... I can't understand why he isn't getting more minutes. He makes better decisions with the ball then TA does and something clearly needs to be changed so might as well give him some minutes then and see what he can do. He hasn't done anything out there that would prevent him from getting additional minutes, but he just isn't getting enough IMO off the bench.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

This might have been a good game for Gabe anyways, since they like to play with a small backcourt.

Really though, I expect us to see more of Scal than Gabe.  He was very good against the Knicks, and has been very good in general this year, when he has been playing regular rotation minutes (he seems to have a bit of a mental block in garbage minutes).  I really have been getting the feeling lately that Doc has been getting tired of Allen's act, and I think even when Allen comes back, he may be getting fewer minutes than Scal.

i think we might see some more gabe, but i wouldnt hold my breath either.

i think scal will get some decent minutes, in part bc it is an away game.  he can play and not let the home crowd "get in his head".

Yeah I think Pruitt will play with Tony Allen out. Good test for him defensively too.

Doc, why, WHY! would you put that stumbling blob into the rotation right now when we're having trouble. THE MAN IS USELESS. Why can't he toss POB in instead, we know what we get from Scal and it's nothing, we don't know 100% what we can get from the kid yet.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

Bringing walker back to the team would be even better idea, but thats a mute point right now.

Hopefully Gabe does well. I'd like to see Walker brought back too and given some run.

Well, I disagree about Scal, but I would like to see Walker (or Giddens, whichever they decide can help more right now) as well.  To be honest, I don't think they could be that much worse than Allen at this point.

I'd actually like to see Gabe run the second unit with Eddie House playing the 2. I know it's only preseason, but I thought Eddie looked much more comfortable doing this.

I think there are a lot of people who would like to see the same thing.  And I expect that to be the case whenever they are both out there.

I sure hope so, but with Doc you just never know. Pruitt has played so little that I really have no opinion on him, but he does seem a little passive. Probably a wrong impression on my part though.
I've really soured on TA lately- his outside shot is atrocious and his game seems to be regressing. Could we even get a second round pick for him at this point?
As for Scal- yeah, he played fairly well against the Knicks and guess what? It made no difference. He's OK as a tenth or eleventh man, but that's it IMO.
And Antoine?  Sure, and let's bring Dante Bichette back to the Sox too! They'd be equally effective.

I'm pretty sure (in this thread anyways) the talk has been about Bill Walker, not Antoine (at least that's who I was talking about).

Whoops, I almost forgot we had a different Walker on the roster. Sorry Antoine, nothing personal ;)

There are rules (3 games and only so many times?) for d league players but I'd love to see Walker up.  Gabe & Eddie get ta's sg minutes, scal backup sf minutes and give walker a look.  I think he can help us.
but since i'm not paid by the celtics to make these decisions......... :P
