I'd agree with Rivers' grade if he wasn't running the starters so many minutes in these unlosable blowouts.

Garnett's grade is accurate.  His focus is more on his antics and less on the task at hand this season.

hope you graded him the same way last year when he was embarrising telfair after a steal at halfcourt, crawling on all fours chasing pointguards, and clapping in TJ ford's face.

But that was diffrent right because ESPN didnt run a story on how mean he was to jose calderon right?

Just like all the times he did similar things in minnosota but it was "lovable" and "off the wall" since he wasen't a boston athlete.

I think I would have TA rated ahead of Leon just because TA is playing as well or better than expected(I'm not one who thinks he is a dissappointment when he isn't playing great).  And as far as Leon, I expected so much more from him this year.  You couldn't have told me before the season that he wasn't a 20/8 guy under different circumstances...but he hasn't expanded his game at all and just appears so limited.  I love Leon but I really expected a lot more from him this year.

Disagree on Tony, he's playing worse than expected, other than a decent game against the pistons, hes been terrible, his shot is actually embarrasing as are his faces everytime he makes a mistake....Leon I agree on, I expected much more from him, he seems to have regressed if anything, very dissapointing.

Quick Grades from me
Perk: A..Not because he's playing better than others, but because hes been the most suprising
Rondo: B, he didnt spend enough time working on that jumper
Pierce: A+, despite his  fg%, hes been the unquestioned leader of this team IMO, hes the player I trust most , and he came into the season in better shape than last.
KG: B- : seen a bit of a dropoff, maybe its injury, maybe its something else
Ray: B +, Signs of jesus shuttlesworth :)

Eddie: C
Leon: C
TA: D-
BBD: C-
Doc: B
Danny: C

Oh and not that hes on our team anymore
Posey: A+, shooting career high fg and 3p fg %'s and is the difference maker off the bench in every game the hornets win

How can Scali get anything less then an A?  Shooting 41 % from the field, 40 % from three point land.  His scoring is up.

What more did you expect?

I rely on my eyes.  Not on the freaking media.  Garnett doesn't seem as focused on the task at hand this season.  His numbers (particularly his rebounding numbers) reflect it.

Hey, if you guys want to take your KG antics argument back to it's appropriate thread, that would be cool. This thread isn't about that.

Rondo: A- (consistency still isn't there, but he has been very good)
Perk: A (Does everything you ask of him, and keeps getting better on offense)
Pierce: A- (Has done an excellent job of picking his spots)
Allen: A (other than a bad shooting game here and there, he has been great)
Garnett: B+ (only this low because of expectations.  He has looked tired at times)

House: C+ (they are asking him to do way too much, but he has pretty much been what he has always been..and that is not a PG)
Tony Allen: D+ (he gets the plus for the couple decent games sprinkled in, but overall he has been his normal, spastic self)
Powe: B- (He hasn't been consistent, but that is expected now that he has moved firmly into the rotation, where he is facing many bad matchups that he would have avoided last year)
Davis: B- (If he keeps hitting his jumper, this will go up, but right now, he is the anchor of the bench defense...unfortunately he is also a weak link offensively)
Scal: B- (He is what he is.  A very good, and versatile defender, who doesn't add much offensively.  But he has been much better this year of playing within himself).

I tend to agree more with nick that his numbers trending slightly down reflect that he's the player with the most time logged on the court over his career and he plays a position where loss of athlitic ablity shows up quicker than guards and that he's losing a half a step, not that he's got some crazy new idea that he has to act diffrently with regards to his behavior on the court and thats somehow translating to him not giving a full effort.

I see that a lot of you guys are giving the starters better grades than I am but let me explain why my grades for the starters are where they are.

I'm sure you have all heard of the saying "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts". Well, that how I feel about this starting unit. As a whole I think they are somewhere between and A and an A+. Their synergy, chemistry, karma...call it what you will, is outstanding. But if you take apart the whole and look at each player individually I don't believe their games are all in that A to A+ area. Last year KG and Pierce carried this group and Ray picked it up at the end of the year. But this year, this group goes as Rondo and Perk go. If they both play well this team dominates. If they both play less than great this team struggles. Their improvement and the increased chemistry is responsible for the unit as a whole getting that A to A+ grade.

Therefore I gave them higher grades because both are performing so much better than expected. Ray individually is playing better than last year, Paul is producing about the same although his defense and shooting isn't as good, KG's game has slipped a bit and that includes his lack of desire to play down low.

The bench in my estimation is graded as a whole at about a D+. Yeah, there's a couple of guys that with okay grades but again this time their whole is less than the sum of their parts. As a unit, I don't think they are that good. But because of the hgihs each individual can achieve when they are on, they have helped this team in a bunch of games. But as a group, they have been bad. And their chemistry sucks.

I think all these grades would be way higher had Ainge actually decided to give the starting five a good bench. He should have stacked his bench but he stripped it. If these guys numbers are down my guess is it's because they're all exhausted. Hard to have great numbers when you're playign too many minutes.
