It's been far too long since we had a good food or beverage thread...

I love coffee.  I like it strong.  I like it black if it's hot, with milk if it's iced.  I like it in the morning.  I like it in the afternoon.  Not so much at night, but I'm not afraid of it keeping me up.  I like French Roasts.  I like a latte with a bunch of shots of the good stuff in it.  I don't like flavored coffees, except for an occasional mocha.  I like the smell of the beans.  I like sucking on a raw bean every now and then (not very often).  I love the sound of the grinder in the morning because it means coffee is coming soon.  I love it when certain unnamed CelticBloggers with indigenous beans sends some my way.  I'm not crazy about Dunkin Donuts hot coffee, though I like it iced.

I prefer this kind of cap on a takeout cup, to the type you need too peel back *though I usually bring my own container)

I don't like decaf.  I like the caffeine.  I need the caffeine.  The caffeine needs me.  We're friends.  Coffee is my friend.

All hail, ye mighty coffee bean
Yup

I also like DD's iced while hot not so much. I tolerate it, though. Milk, no sugar. Always regular flavor, no FV, Hazlenut, or any that business.

On the coffee note; anybody else here drink too much too early, and then wind up spitting some of it up? I might just have a stomach problem.

I hate coffee.  I think it smells AWFUL and tastes worse. Yuk!

hmmmm...no, but my cat has a similar issue with furballs

Too much coffee can definitely wreak havoc with your innards.  I'm more of a slow and steady coffee drinker, so I don't have much of an issue with it.  I need to remember to drink some water though (and not drink coffee exclusively).

I also have the same problems with furballs, FWIW. Thanks for the advice. :)

At home typically it ranges from Chock full'O Nuts to Folgers Classic Roast. Once in a while someone gifts me some Starbucks, DD's, or other various brands. I'm not picky.

BJ's has a pretty great deal on Starbucks beans.  You have to buy a bunch of it, but the rate per pound is less than a lot of worse coffees.

I drink WAY too much coffee.  I love a nice dark roast, but there's something about diner coffee, too; I can pound cup after cup over a nice breakfast of eggs and greasy bacon.  Diner coffee is one of life's underappreciated pleasures.

I have vowed to cut back on my total intake a bit this year.  I find that once I get up to 6-8 cups a day, I tend to crash way too hard in the afternoons, and I become a total bear to be around on the weekends.  Problem is, I can't really sub in any tea, because for some reason drinking tea (at least black tea) makes me vomit if I don't have much in my stomach.  My body just can't handle something in the tea (it ain't the caffeine).

Decaf is a sick joke.

Coffee should be black, too.  No sugar, no cream, no milk, nada.  My old man taught me many years ago, learn to enjoy black coffee, that way if someone offers you a cup you can always say "yes" even if they don't have anything to put in it.

I started drinking it black as a way to cut down on all the fat from the yummy cream, and found I like it better.

Indeed, I don't think I've consumed an entire cup's worth for my lifetime.  I'm not the world's biggest on hot drinks (a nice cool guava juice will do it for me any day), but on the occasion that I do go for one, it is tea or hot chocolate.

The odd part for me is that I don't have any problem with other coffee-flavored items.  Coffee ice cream and Dannon's coffee yogurt in particular are high on my list.

Redz, it's always good to have you to get us back on track when we stray too far into tangential issues (such as, say, Celtics basketball) and off the beaten path of the real essentials.   ;D

Anyone a fan of coffee porters or other coffee-infused beers?  I've had a few good ones but also some really bad examples.  It sounds like such a good idea ("You got your coffee in my beer!  You got your beer in my coffee!"), but it doesn't always work.  I brewed a mocha stout a while back, I might do it again at some point.

I love coffee. Dark roasts all the way. Usually Starbucks (its probally not a good thing when most of the staff at a given location know your order before you make it). I also brew my own. One of life's true pleasures.

My brother brought back some Turkish Coffee after a trip a few years back and man oh man that is some good strong coffee.

I saw one  while back couldn't get it (it was from a micro brewery somewhere)

I'd definitely try one...Ilike porters and I like coffee

You might want to edit your post...   unless that was coffee you was drinking in a Turkish prison.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I refuse to step into a Fourbucks; I ain't asking for no fo-fo "venti" nonesense.  Give me a large coffee, black!  I loved those Dunkin' Donuts commercials with They Might Be Giants ("Is it french?  Italian?")
