As a Celtics fan and a Spaniard, i would say one of the most difficult day as a fan was the day Gasol was traded to the Lakers. I had followed Pau's career in Spain and then in his seasons as a Grizzly, and i had obviously mixed feelings when i discovered he was headed to the Lakers.

Let me put it into words:

I have always hated the Lakers. I just can't stand anything related to them, ever since i became a fan of the NBA in the 80s. Now i had to see one of the best players ever in the history of basketball in Spain dressed in that horrible yellow jersey and playing along side with the irritant Kobe Bryant...! I support Pau but i haven't really watched him closely since he plays in LA. Sometimes i look at his stats, sometimes i try to ignore he is in the league.

But one thing is certain: he is really a special player, and it doesn't really matter where he plays, i will always be a fan. I just wished we could be traded to some other team :P

I didn't mind him when he was on the Grizzlies.  Everything immediately changed when he went to LA.  And he also looks like a llama  ;D

If you read my post, i hate the Lakers. There's nothing pro-Laker in my post. The fact that i like Pau Gasol (i've seen his games for a decade now? doesn't mean that i like the lakers. yeah guys, lay off a bit! haha...he's not spewing Laker propaganda...he's simply expressing agony over the fact that his favorite player plays for the lakers and not us. this for him is the equivalent of what it would be like for me to watch Dwade don a lakers jersey. i don't like pau gasol much anymore either, but everyone's entitled to their opinion. plus...i think we would like him a lot more if we had wound up getting him instead of KG. if i remember right, there were about 5 trade ideas per day evolving around Gasol before ray and kg came to town.

I don't know, I've always thought he looked like the bug in the first Men in Black.  I think it's his non-existent chin that reminds of that movie every time I see him.

BTW, i love how if you play for the lakers, and the play is pretty enough, they don't call certain things, such as the very apparent travel in the midst of all that crazy dribbling. looked awesome though, and he sure can handle the ball for a big man.
