A few points:
1) I really hope this bench scoring issue goes away soon. I think it can be done with the current group if PP or Ray are left on the floor with them more consistently. This was done often last year, but has been somewhat abandoned this year.
2) This then reduces our need to a back-up center. I don't believe Joe Smith is a defensive upgrade over BBD. But he certainly would be offensively. I would rather go to Mourning, PJ, or Mutombo (in that order), if possible.
3) I agree with Coach Bo that the loss of Posey is huge, at least currently. We have individual parts that can replace what Posey brought, but he could do so in one player rather than three. His versatility was amazing and currently not replaceable.
4) We are still the champs until we are beaten in a 7 game playoff series. A few bad games here needs to be kept in perspective over the long haul. I believe we can win the championship with the current group, thought it will be difficult. A few minor adjustments in personnel improves those chances.
