I mean, what a surprise to say at least. I've just looked at the standings(by conference) and I noticed that every top 8 team in the East is on a streak!!It was just a year ago when everybody was downplaying Eastern Conference and with a very good reason.
What has changed it less than 8 months?
East leads the West in inter-conference games 79-62(.590)
I only wonder will this last for the whole season(or longer). I'm afraid that more than 2 teams this year will tank and that the season won't be as interesting and good as the last season was even tho the bar is set very high.
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

the west has better players in my opinion but the east has better teams. the west is only 9 teams deep while the east is a little deeper and the talent level of the teams is a lot closer at the bottom.

A bunch of teams in the West are on the decline, including GS, Phx, and Dal. San Ant could be too if they can't stay healthy.

It can also be argued that the three best teams in basketball are in the east, if you like Orlando.

Utah Jazz has had a lot of problems with EC teams this year.

So has Phoenix.

Dallas got drubbed in New Jersey. New Jersey won in Utah and Phoenix. That should tell you something right there.
