A few weeks ago, a member of the forum posted a topic/poll pertinent to asking if Rondo would be an all-star this year?  The majority of the forum voted "no".  Over the past couple weeks, Rondo's play has been very good.  Does anyone have a change of heart? If so/not, why?

I still don't think he will.  As good as Rondo has been, Devin Harris has been better.  And since AI will be voted in, there just won't be room for Rondo this year, unless there are injuries.

TP and quoted for truth. AI's inevitable "YEA IM POPULAR!" selection will kill rajon's chances.

Even if he doesn't make it, it's awesome that he's in the discussion, not just by C's fans, but by the experts.  I love it.  And some of the experts say they prefer Rondo over Harris, though Harris has more impressive numbers.  Our point guard has come a long way in a short time.

I think most of the no was over whether he "would" make it. His play over the past few weeks has shown he's playing well enough to deserve it. Sadly all-star game player aren't selected based on winning basketball. Just like NBA players aren't paid based on how much they help their team win, rather by their scoring average.

Nah, and i'd prefer all our guys to get rest rather than play in a pointless scrimmage myself

That's what people said about Ray Allen last year... after the All-Star break he had one of his hottest periods in his career, shooting wise.

As I said then and will now repeat, Rondo won't make the team this year but probably will next year. The All-Star team is voted on by Guard position as a whole and not separate SG/PG positions. With AI, Wade, Carter, Allen, Johnson, Harris, and Rose all in the Conference and all being either more popular or more deserving, there is just little to no chance he makes it. If the position is for just guards how does Rondo make it over any of those 2 guards?

After the fan vote in the East, I think Rondo has an excellent chance at being a coaches selection if they want true PG backups'. They will likely take 2 backups and he will have an excellent chance of being one IMO.

Boston Rondo
New York Duhon
Philadelphia Miller
New Jersey Harris
Miami Chalmers
Charlotte Felton
Atlanta Bibby
Detroit Iverson
Indiana Ford
Chicago Rose/Hinrich
Cleveland Williams
Milwaukee Ridnour
Orlando Nelson
Toronto Calderon
Washington Dixon

Not many choices on this list that are 'definite' locks to make the roster. 8)

Nope I voted he would go then and he's actually increased his output since  I don't see how he wouldn't go to be honest.

I've voted for all five C's starters
every time I've voted and I'm just
glad Rajon is beginning to earn my
votes. As of late, he's been just
the point guard every team dreams
about. Maybe he can't shoot like
a lot of other players but he does
"a million" other things on the court.

I don't mind if Rajon doesn't make it, as long as Ray, Pierce and KG do and AI doesn't.

I also think that if we're still on pace to beat the Bulls record, then we have to have 4 players in there.

I just like his improved play. Who cares about awards. AI shouldn't be rewarded for ruining the Pistons, celebrated by Celtics fans for doing so, yes but not an all-star birth.

I know  one person who has changed his  mind/opinion in the last week or so about Rondo that is C.Barkley.Surprisingly,Barkley called Rondo on TNT this past week,an Allstar. That shocked the heck out of me. ;D
