Bolt's 100 and 200 m races at the
Olympics this year are two of
the most superior performances
I have ever seen. In ANY sport.

I bet Rondo wins baseline to opposite foul line.  Not joking.

I would love to see bolt line up at WR with the Pats...Make it happen Mr. Kraft!

I would take that bet and place my life on it.  Rondo would have NO chance.  none.  not even a little.

actually, bolt's style is all about building to an eventual ridiculous top speed (as are all world class sprinters) so having him suddenly stop and change direction in a shorter space might through him off quite a bit.

but just a stright 100 M race? yea, no chance rajon.  :)

Yea I know he gets faster as he goes...takes him a second or two to get up to full speed.  but the poster you quoted didnt suggest change of direction or stopping (I assumed it to mean basically 3/4 of the court).

I get the sense that 'fast' pro athletes arent that fast compared to pro athletes.  My reasoning for that is this...how many college players (primarily football, but not exclusively) run track as well as their other sport.  and yet, those guys arent even elite at the track level.  Ton's of College level Wr's also run track, and while they end up in the pro's as very very fast WR's, they are 'slow' in comparison to olympic sprinters, let alone the fastest man to ever run in the olympics.  Rondo would get smoked.

Edit:  Look at it like this, Deion Sanders ran the 100 in college in 10.26 seconds.  Bolt did it in 9.69 (while slowing down and celebrating).  The fastest College football player ever recorded running the 100 was Trindon Holliday who ran in in 10.02...still not even close to Bolt.

It just isnt close.  (If you convert Bolt's 100 yard time to the 40 yard dash, which wouldnt be perfectly accurate, i know, but if you did that, it would amount to be a 3.876 40 yard dash.)  no one gets near that.

ohhh i thought he ment a baseline touch and baseline back.

Even if you are right...based on the numbers I put up, I think Bolt would have enough time to slow down, get on hands and knees, kiss the floor, get up and still win, lol (that may be overstating it, but a Bolt/Rondo race would be laughable.)

I think Rondo has a chance in a suicide drill, not a full or 3/4 court sprint.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

Yea, he wasnt just beating people, he was destroying them.  You never see that in Olympic races.  He was so vastly superior to the other sprinters it was a joke.  I simply hope he was clean.  I actually believed Marion Jones was clean and was so upset to learn she was a cheater.  I now basically doubt any dominant athlete in the olympics.

I think Rondo is thinking Perk will be milling around the 50 yard line or so with nothing else to do but "block out" Usain.

I bet he's clean, he can run that fast because of his physical stature. He's 6'5'' and his form is still very raw. Believe it or not he's going to get even faster.

I would love to believe he is clean.  but as i said, I believe jones was clean, and was crushed when i found out she wasnt.  Bolt is big, but that isnt everything.  normally sprinters arent big.  he is an anomaly.  so yea, i would love for him to be clean, but unfortunately I am not trusting of any of those athletes anymore (I still cling to hope Lance Armstrong was clean, if it were to come out that he wasnt, I would lose all faith).

Normally guys his size can't accelerate at the rate he can...it's supposed to take longer for big guys to get their legs chugging along.

Nothing compares to watching this live, I was awestruck. I've not seen anything like this and even seeing this now some 4 months later still makes my hairs stand up. As good as Phelps was, I think this is the most electrifying moment of the Beijing Olympics.
