ESPN is reporting that Krstic is going to come back from overseas and play for the Thunder.  Normally I wouldn't care about this but does this make Joe Smith being bought out even more inevitable now?

I don;t think Joe smith being bought out was ever inevitable...but it may be more likely now

I thought of that as well when head this news. However, I think they can waive Steven Hill, I don't think his contract is guaranteed. They sent him to the D-League and they recalled him a few days ago, probably to assess him for a last time. So, answering your question: probably not. Although I still believe Joe Smith will be bought out at some point.

This signing is intriguing, all the reports from Russia I read were stating that Krstic was underwhelming and anywhere near his pre-injury level.

I'd be happy if Joe Smith happened but I'll also be pretty excited about Mutombo.

All I want for Christmas is a Joe Smith buyout.

Be careful what you wish for. He used to play for Cleveland, maybe he liked the chemistry there and would want to go back?

Greater chance for playing time to showcase his skills for next year?

best offer?

You could be right on
both counts. He'll most
likely make more money
in Oklahoma City.

Its going to happen around Christmas time if its going to happen at all, so lets see what the OFS (Oklahoma Franchise Stealers) does.

That team sure has a thing for big man projects
(Sene, Petro, Swift, Ibaka, now Krstic).
Celtics fan for life.

what's funny, is that if you put them all into one person...the guy would still suck.

Krstic isn't a project, he's a proven big man that's actually not that bad.  He has a career average of 11 points and close to 6 rebounds.  While that isn't a super star big man, its a lot better than what a lot of teams have.

that was all PRE-injury...he's not the same player right now, and not sure if a 3 year investment is wise on a guy who may not get back to that level.
