A friend of mine is the owner of a d-league and supposedly the Celtics are trying to trade Giddens to anyone for a first rounder.  Has any one else heard this?  His exact words were "The Celtics are trying to give Giddens away."

I think the Globe reported that Danny was trying to trade Giddens for a future 1st round pick.  I imagine the thinking is that he has imporved his play in the D-League and maybe increased his stock & a middling team might take a flyer on him maybe for their 1st in 2010.  Then that would open up a roster spot for which ever vet DA has his eyes on.

According to the Celtics front office, there's nothing to this.
