I swear you can't make this stuff up!  ;D

Walker Reaches Buyout: Its seems Antoine Walker and the Memphis Grizzlies have finally reached a deal. After about a week of talks it seems ink went to paper last night and the Grizzlies should announce they are waiving Walker as early as today. If teams do not pick up his $9 million contract – which few teams have the ability to do - Walker will be an unrestricted free agent in the next 48 hours. This deal has been floating around for a few days, meaning teams are starting to feel this situation out. One team that's not interested in Walker is the Boston Celtics, who told reporters they would pass on the player they drafted in 1996. It's believed the Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks may have interest in Walker once he clears waivers.

****!!!!!  If he goes to the Knicks, I might just catch a game(being that I live in Jersey and all and get MSG) for the first time ever(I never watched the Knicks, unless they were against the Celtics).

I'd love for him to come to New York, I'm only living here for one more semester and it would be great to watch Toine.  I mean they only have 7 guys that play every night so they're looking for anyone who can play the game right now.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

I think he would be a good fit for the Knicks. They don't worry about defense, and like taking quick shots and jacking jumpers.

I am not being sarcastic. I really think that would be a good fit since they are so short handed.

Yeah, I agree.  Antoine isn't too much different than a lot of the other guys putting up decent numbers there right now: Al Harrington, Tim Thomas, etc.  He'd fit their philosophy pretty well.  They're certainly not a contender, but they're probably one of the very few teams where Antoine could sign and play a prominent role.

I hope the Knicks pick him up ASAP just so I can bust out my old #8 jersey at the game Sunday night...

I just wish that he ends his carrer with somewhat of a good ending.
Last couple of years would best be described as worst nightmare for any player.

The Knicks, who are currently leading the league in 3 point shots a game with 30 want to bring in Antoine Walker?

LOL.

D'Antoni must want his 3 PT FG% to decrease from the respectable 36% it currently is so he can teach the team that throwing up threes all the time isn't necessarily a good thing. ;) ;D

(Yeah, yeah. I know he's encouraging them to take them. It's a joke! Okay!)

I usually make fun of Toine because I really hated his game, but I honestly think he plays hard and wants to win. But maybe he should just take his money and retire before he tarnishes his image any further. Of course, he(and some cbloggers) still think he can help someone ::) ,so I guess we'll be seeing a few more 4-19, 3-14, 5-22 boxscores.

He actually would fit the Knicks well as others have stated. He likes to shoot the 3 and not play D. That's the Knicks entire team.

In other words, it should be fun to see....IF it happens.

I think Toine's first priority once he clears waivers(I doubt anyone picks him up) is to go to the Contenders(except Boston.....he knows where he stands there) in the League and give them his resume.   (of course, he'll make sure to omit the bad parts....lol)

If walker was 37 or above and he was in this situation, then I agree that he should think of hanging it up....but the reality is he's only 32 right now(an OLD 32 but 32 nonetheless)and I don't recall ever seeing a player retire at that age unless it was a medical condition or something.   And last time I checked, "Inefficiency" wasn't a medical condition...though it would've explained some things.  lol.  ;D

The Knicks only play 7 guys. Can't keep that up too long.

Seems D'Antoni never uses his bench anywhere.
