Rodman is probably certifiably insane.

But, I have to admit I totally rock his old Bulls jersey at least a couple times a month. Love the guy, and I would love to have him on my team any day of the week. Probably the best rebounder in NBA history.

If you look away from all the off/on court drama that came with Dennis he diseveres to be inducted into the NBA hall for his carrer' he brought it to the court every single night in and night out and that was one of the few things i admired about the Bulls during the 90's (have to admit i liked Kerr's shooting aswell) i doubt he has anything left in the tank now a days but if he had some of that step left in him and he could clean up his act then yeah' i would take him in a heartbeat as he is the perfect role player with his skillset (again drama/ego aside)

Isnt he allmost 50 years old now?

"Leadership is diving for a loose ball, getting the crowd involved, getting other players involved. It`s being able to take it as well as dish it out. That`s the only way you`re going to get respect from the players"

i LOVE rodman, and always have.  say what you want about the guy, but he busted his butt and left it on the court every night. he made a career out of doing the things other players didnt want to do.  he was the best rebounder i have ever seen, an unbelievable defender who could guard anyone he was asked to guard, was a walking tommy point, and was able to mentally rattle nba stars on a nightly basis like no other i have seen.

Rodman is probably certifiably insane.

i also have a rodman bulls jersey that i still rock today.  (the only other non-celtic jersey i own is a jason williams sacremento jersey)

Rodman is up there with Russell in terms of rebounding.  Russell brought a lot more in terms of team defense but Rodman may have been the best singular rebounder of all time.  Tough SOB too.

Great player - and great soundtrack to that vid.  Well done by KBlaze once again.
God bless and good night!

One of a kind.  The act was hard to take but he played with such reckless abandon and was such a smart rebounder (the combo of tenacity and technicality made him the best rebounder in the game).

Teaming up with David Robinson was a pretty amusing clash of personalities.
Yup

Rodman was great.  Awesome role player.  Amazing rebounder.  Great defender.  And he use to play lots of mind games and get under the skin of his opponents.

Bottom line is smart fans could see thru all of Rodmans antics and appreciate the fact he was the best rebounder in the NBA and constant hustle guy. In fact its long been forgotten but in one of Rodmans last days in the league (when he was on the Mavs) he played against the Celtics in the old Fleetcenter. He dove headfirst for a loose ball, and was actually parallel to the floor with his whole body. His landing was pretty ugly as i recall but what about his game wasnt. Anyways the Boston fans cheered louder for him and that play then they did for the home team that night. He might have even gotten a standing O from some. The pic was on the front page of the Globe the next day. If he was a Celtic we would have loved the guy. He'd have even more of a cult following then he has.

Agreed.  TP.  I don't think this is the particular rebound you're talking about, but he was known to do this quite a bit:

God bless and good night!

Yup thats exactly what he did except in a Mavs jersey and the Boston fans just exploded. Loudest cheers of the game. I thinks its just a testament to Boston fans in general. We know the game well and can appreciate the little things and idiocincracies of some of the more colorful characters in the league.

love the guy, cannot really remember him from Pistons days (given my hatred for Zeke and Lambeer and my youth it was easy to miss things back then) but loved him since his SA days. Easily my favorite non-Celtic of all time, and if we could get Rodman clone on our team right now, I'd take it.
