OMG. this is going to be a really screwed up Allstar game.

First off, the Eastern Guards: in order of votes

Wade        623,311 obviously
Iverson     492,093 Okay(did sum votes carry over from the West?
V.Carter    236,634 ****? hes not even the best on his team.
Ray Allen   174,155 getting his share but deserves more than VC
Calderon    124,705 more deserving than Rondo? I dont think so
Ridnour     123,104 where the hell did this come from?
J. Nelson   116,228 okay isnt he injured?
D. Rose     102,263 i thought he would have more
J.Johnson   94,847 deserves WAAAAAAAAY MORE
D. Harris   94,294 Understandable
Arenas      64,450 Another injured player.

My problem is that Rondo is nowhere near 100,000 yet. O well maybe he'll get voted in by GMs and coaches.

2nd biggest problem thus far...
The forwards....

LeBron James   643,786 DUH
Kevin Garnett  495,514 DUH
Yi Jianlian    356,556  ****? they need to ban Chinese IPs. If he makes it Im not watching at all.
Chris Bosh     274,195 Makes sense
Paul Pierce    153,512 Good to see he's right there should be 4th but that bum @$$ Yi is in the mix.
Shawn Marion   144,066 Nothing to say
Josh Smith     59,574 Injured.
T. Prince      56,846 Dont care.
Hedo Turkoglu  56,006 See above ^
Danny Granger  49,752 Based on this year.should be right behind Pierce
Michael Beasley48,999. Ehhh.

Now the Centers:

Dwight Howard     775,933   DUH
Samuel Dalembert 116,708   Decent center. but not 2nd best in East.
Rasheed Wallace   88,885   PF/C? does not deserve the 3rd spot.
Jermaine ONeal    75,324   Those [dang] Canadians vote alot EH?
Al Horford        45,284   The real 2nd best C in the East.
Ben Wallace       40,799   gets votes cuz hes on James' team.
Andrew Bogut      36,479   expected more from Aussie voters.
Z. Ilgauskas      28,022   See Ben wallace.
Kendrick Perkins  24,777   In my opinion should be no lower than 5th on this list.
Emeka Okafor      15,323

This is gonna be one messed up all star weekend.
PS. CELTICS BLOGGERS. GET OUT THERE AND VOTE to prevent a travesty like Yi making the Eastern squad over Paul.

WOW! Yi, this is just wrong. Can you imagine all the drama thats going to happen if Yi makes the roster somehow?

Plus where is Caron Butler, I know his team sucks BUT the man is becoming a SUPERSTAR. 11 FORWARDS are ahead of Caron Butler NOWAY!. He probably makes the difference tonight, If we stop him Celtics wins by 18, otherwise it might be a long night.

I bet the Fakers wish they still had him.

it doesn't matter how many yi gets or paul gets as long as its not more then kg and lebron (which i highly doubt it will be). only 2 forwards and 2 guards will make it as well as 1 center- the rest are not voted in.

Become Legendary.

AI doesn't deserve it but some guys continue to get votes for about 3 years after they stop deserving them. YI, on the other hand thats a joke.

You're right, but the coaches who vote for the bench will consider the people's votes! China is a huge market after all, unfortunately... However, they should protect the competition, Yi is worse than an average European player, he shouldn't even be in Phoenix those days!!
[dang], the NBA has been commercialized so much and the blame is on Stern...

there's got to be more than a 125,000 celtics fans! which would put rondo ahead of calderon, on the assumption that they all vote rondo of course

This is the All-Star game, and those who the fans most want to see get to start. As a result, players like Vince Carter have a good shot at starting every season even though they may not deserve it. I don't really understand why you are complaining or jotting notes down next to each player - this is the fan voting, who the fans want to see the most. If this were a ranking of players done by professional scouts, then there is a legit reason to complain. However, given that this is the All-Star game and this is the fans voting, I don't see how you should expect the results to turn out much differently or be angry when they do.

Regarding Yi being 3rd in the fan voting, I don't see why anyone should really be surprised or really angered by this. Once again, this is not to honor the best players, but rather, the most popular players. The NBA has been working hard to reposition itself as an international game, and these are the results the NBA will have to live with. A significant and growing portion of the NBA's revenue is coming from China, and David Stern would be a fool to snub China's 2nd biggest basketball star. (300 million people watched last year's game between the Rockets and Bucks featuring Yao and Yi..think of the growth potential for the NBA there.) Don't want Yi to play in the All-Star game until he deserves it? The solution is simple, disallow fan voting. Those who bash everyone voting for Yi and then follow it up by urging everyone to vote blindly for Celtics players is just being hypocritical.

And the racist comments about Chinese people are really unnecessary. It's people like that that make the rest of the world think Americans are self-centered jerks.

My post's objective is to show how much fans that vote dont actually watch basketball. Players who arent playing still get voted. But it is based on what players are popular. If the NBA wants the best show, they will put the players that are performing the best. Do I want to see Yi Jianlian chuckin up threes or do I want to see Chris Bosh catching an alley? Its supposed to be the best show of basketball skills possible.

By the way, the comment on blocking chinese IPs was not meant to be racist. I meant since they have waaaaaay more people over there it gives their players a better chance. I have no problem with Yao making it. He is one of the best Centers. Oh and if this makes it any better, Im not American.

Why do fans get a vote anyway?

because its a shame of a system. Its like voting for class president in highschool.

I consider the all star starting 5 a heat check for the NBA's marketing team, nothing more.

if Yi is on the rostor we should all go to phoenix and boo him mercilesely. all of us should be in former celtics jerseys, and basketball shorts.

Sorry but D-Rose and Devin Harris have impressed me more then Rondo so FAR. However Rondo tops Calderon imo. I'd rather see PP and Ray and not make the all-star team. Then opposing teams fans mostly Lakers and Cavs can't say that the celtics should win the finals with 3 all-stars again.
