  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I was listening to an eddie house interview on weei.com, then I searched for a youtube clip of Eddie impersonating Ray Allen. In the side bar I saw "Ray Allen Buzzer Beater" and I immediately had to watch the Charlotte buzzer beater from last season. It was easily my favorite basketball moment last season. They were a three game win streak removed from a loss to the Orlando Magic (their first of the season, down 2 points with less than 4.7 seconds left to go. Jason Richardson (I believe) inbounds the ball, Eddie House tips it, Pierce recovers and passes to Ray Allen for the go ahead.

What was your favorite in game moment from last season?

Ray ray waving off KG to blow past sasha to seal the greatest playoff comeback of all time :)

Not only was it a great play, it pretty much sealed banner 17, had a great moment with ray and pierce hugging and the rest of the floor going nuts, and also had the added bonus of sasha crying on the bench.

also: eddie's electrifing full court sprint to pass wally world, head first slide to the floor, and somehow tip the ball to big game james for a near 3 pt play in game 7 of the clevland series. I knew right there we were not losing that game, the cavs minus lebron didn't want it enough.

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
Most of the great ones have been covered, so I'll add a few more (my favorite is the Ray drivin/Sasha cryin moment crownsy mentioned):

- KG banking in a one hander while falling down late in the 1st half of Game 6.  That play instantly confirmed that 1. There would be no Laker comeback and tense 2nd half moments, ie Game 2, and 2. KG wouldn't have the stigma of being seen as not contributing enough in the Finals (completely false, but that was the storyline the media was starting to push after a lousy Game 5).

- During a game in I believe the Atlanta series, KG hands off a rebound to Rondo and briefly touches heads with him, saying something to him before they both head up court.  Was a great veteran/young guy moment.

- The very first game against the Wizards last year, we had a first half possession where every starter touched the ball, swinging the ball around the perimeter and through the paint, creating a wide open 3 that Pierce swished.  Almost no dribbling and probably 5-6 crisp, purposeful passes with the defense falling further and further behind each one.  My jaw dropped to see a bunch of guys who hadn't played together before work so well and so unselfishly together.

Not to go all Dickie V, but we really are in a special place getting to root for a team like this.  TP to OP for bringing back all the great memories.

I can think of a few off the top of my head-
1- the Leon slam against the Lakers(or was it the Hawks?) during the blowout
2- the play where Rondo faked Nash out of his sneakers
3- the whole 104-59 game against the Knicks
4- Perk's end-to-end dribbling exhibition and basket, don't remember the game, but it was hilarious because I kept waiting for him to lose the ball.
5- KG's insane panther defense
6- KG wagging his finger at Calderon(though it was a bit over the line)

Ray and PP are so good that no particular plays stand out- well, yeah the play everyone else mentions with Ray blowing by Sasha, and the PP three point bank shot they keep showing in the commercial.

This is the 4th great C's era in my lifetime(I didn't really appreciate the first one, was just a little young) and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

1. Perkins around the back to pierce with the alley to KG
2. Pierce's around the back pass against the Nuggets
3. Tonys reverse alley in game 6 during crunch time
4. PJ Brown dunking on Kobe
5. Pierce blocking Kobe
6. Pierce going to the ground and getting the loose ball over Lebron
7. KG punching Leon after the dunk against the Hawks
8. Pierce's dunk against Denver
9. Ray's dunk on detroit
10. KG crawling on the floor
11. Rondo behind the back making Anthony Carter fall

Definitely the two Ray buzzer beaters.

One vs Toronto and the television feed when out with like 12 seconds left, and the audio feed came on just in time to her "Ray for 3 from the corner, got it!!"

Then of course Rays beater against the bobcats.

Eddie House in the finals making his shot then walking back down the court you can read his lips "I'm the muthaf****n shooter here"

The KG put back slam after Posey's missed shot from the corner.

and a lot of others people have mentioned

- Pierces Game 7 against Cleveland.  I know someone already mentioned it, but it deserves to be mentioned again.

-Our first game against the Mavericks, very late in a very close game on a crucial possesion we miss a jump shot and Dirk casually comes down with the defensive rebound right in front of the basket....Rondo just grabs the ball out of Dirks hands, and before Dirk can even react Rondo had already flipped the ball up and in off the glass to pretty much seal the game.

-The entire 4th quarter of game 6 against the Lakers, the entire crowd chanting NA-NA-NA-NA  NA-NA-NA-NA HEY HEY HEY GOODBYE!!  While Ray Allen buries three, after three, after three, and poor Sasha, went behind the screen, behind the screen, behind the screen.

- PJ Browns jumpshot with 1 minute remaining against Cleveland.  I screamed at the top of my lungs NOOOOO!!!!! when he pulled up, then YEEEEESSSS!!!!! after it goes in.

4th Quarter of Game 6 vs Detroit we were down by 2. Pierce drives the lane spins around McDyess lays it in and a foul. Was part of a 10 point comeback in the 4th. One of my favorites.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Rondos jumper in that game that pretty much sealed the victory was pretty sweet too.

"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

Ray ray waving off KG to blow past sasha to seal the greatest playoff comeback of all time :)

That's #3 for me...

#1 Paul Pierce returning in Game 1 of the Lakers series.  I, like I imagine so many others, had gone from cloud 9 to the bottom of the Pacific ocean when he got hurt so early.  I just kept thinking "they came so far... and this is how it happened... this is how they'll go out...".  When he came back me and the random Celtics fan a few feet from me started going nuts.  The pro-lakers bar got all sassy about it.  SUCKERS!

#2... KG dropping to all fours on defense.  I saw that and leapt out of my seat shouting "That's a Celtic!  That's a MOTHER F&*&^ CELTIC!"
