I mean that we have the shooting guard, Small Forward, and Power Forward Positions Covered with Ray, Paul, And Kevin.

If you could build your own Championship team, with 3 All stars.

What would you do?

Point Guard, Center, and Shooting guard?

And with that said who had the most Powerful one, two, three Combo of all time??

Magic, Kareem, Worthy?

Bird, Kevin, Robert or DJ?

My point here, is that we have a Historic Big 3.

Looking at it. It's a Great Luxury to have a 6'5" and a 6'6".

SG and SF that are All Stars and can move there feet and guard not 1 but 2 of the other teams wing players. Ala Jordan Pippen.

Though not as good. Add to that Kg, one of the most dynamic big men of all time. And you have an incredible foundation for a team.

Much stronger that a Manu Parker and Duncan Team.

Or I thomas, Dumars, and Rodman.

But not as good as the lakers or 80's celtics Big 3's

No seriously, I think you have to have a very capable point guard, an All-Star big man and at least one All-Star wing. We did that last year and it worked out well.

With current players?

I'd probably go:

Howard, Bosh, Lebron

Ideally a center, a point guard and a small forward.

None of the present point guards blow me away .... so in present players I'd take Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Greg Oden.

Chris Paul doesn't blow you away?

Oden is a question mark for me with his health.

I would go with Howard, Lebron, and Wade but wouldn't argue against Chris Paul replacing one of these guys.  I would even consider Bosh over Howard but any combo of this 3 I would take for the next 10 years.  All things being equal I would go with a C, SF, and a PG.

Point Guard, Small Forward, and Center.

Those 3 positions are most important to me.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

  • Yup
I guess it depends on who the player is.  Wally Szcerbs was an All Star, so was Bill Russell.

NBA history has proven that a dominant center, or a power forward who can do most of what a center can do is essential to winning a title(unless you have MJ).

So, I'd say Center, PF, PG
Yup

Chris Paul does not blow me away ... Not like Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant do.

I fully agree that Oden is a risk pick, but I have faith in the big fella. I like his upside better than Dwight's.

No seriously, I think you have to have a very capable point guard, an All-Star big man and at least one All-Star wing.

Well, if you take 3 of the best 10 players in the league like some posters have, I think regardless of positions you'll have a dynasty.  But if you take any allstars, I think the poster quoted above has the right idea.  If my big man is more defensive minded (i.e. duncan, kg) then i want a better scoring SG as my wing.  If my big man is more offensive minded (i.e. Yao, shaq) then i want a preferably better rebounding SF as my wing (who obviously an still score if he's an allstar).  I'd want a very solid pg like Billups or CP3 who can defend and shoot running the team.

Only taking only 1 top 10 player, I'd be very happy with Billups, Josh Howard, and Duncan/KG as my 3 allstars (although I'd obviously prefer having Kobe or Lebron as my top 10 guy).   Add non-allstars Raja Bell and Perk on there and that team is build for the half court game in the playoffs and to defend.  This actually seems like a team possible to assemble salary wise... no?
