For those of you that didn't here Jalen say that Both Bosh and Lebron James are going to New York in 2010.

From my experience when teams go all out and prepare for the major free agents it almost never works out.

What are some good examples,of A major overhaul that worked out hoping the free agents walked from their prior teams to their team.

I remember the Magic Scoring big With Grant hill and T mac.

That looked great for a minute, but Grant's injuries ruined it.

But It's a big time gamble to blow up the team In Hope that The king will choose the Bright lights over his home town.

How much more famous can he really be? He already is the number #1 endorsed athlete by far.

So Buy or sell BOTH Lebron And C bosh going to the knicks.

I'll buy LeBron going there.  Especially with the recent trouble Brooklyn and Jay-Z are having with getting the Nets to go there.  I don't know about Bosh, but I think that someone on that awesome list of free agents will join LeBron in New York.  Someone will take less money to be in that city and on the same team as that player.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

well i don't know about Bosh, but i think the Knicks are going to land another dude to pair with LeBron in order to get him....remember, LeBron would be theoretically leaving CLE not only because of the "bright lights, big city", but because CLE hasn't been able to put the players around him that can win a Title.

going to the Knicks to play for a worse team won't be so appealing....especially when this contract will take up his best years as a player.

I actually agree. LeBron will be with either the Knicks or the Nets in 2010. Not so sure about Bosh though, but hey, if they make a play for both Bosh and Bron then that's winning duo right there. Not to mention the possibility of throwing Nash into the mix as Hollinger suggested.

Maybe he meant that they were going to co-host SNL in 2010?   ;D

If the Knicks does get Lebron and Bosh they would either have to change their coach or coaching philosphy in order to win any championships.Adding a 36 year old pt guard(Nash) in 2010 would not help their cause either.

I could see Bosh bolting to get out of Canada.

I just don't see Lebron jumping to a team in a big market just because it has a lot of open money.  He is big enough to already playing in a Cleveland market.  There really isn't that much more advertising money in NY.

As for the Orlando example, the original plan was Hill and Duncan (with Duncan as the big prize).  It fell through.

It's a great free agent class, but if you don't land LeBron, you're really not going to make the big time if you're the Knicks.  I think the LBJ friendship to Jay Z is way overblown. LeBron will do what is best for him, which is how it should be.  I say LBJ would be very interested in going to NY if the following happens there:

1. They sign either Bosh or Amare. I agree with another poster, I am leaning to Amare being more likely, given the D'Antoni connection. I don't see Bosh going to NY. I see him re-upping in Toronto. He seems to like it there.
2. They develop a third young stud in the next couple of years.  No, I don't mean David Lee or Nate Robinson. Someone who is not there yet. Probably a top rookie next season. Remember, we are talking about two seasons from now, not next season.  Ideally, it would be a PG, but then again, LeBron sure seems to like the ball in his hands most of the time.

As I remember, Orlando's #1 guy was Duncan and #2 was Hill. Only after Duncan resigned with the Spurs did the Magic desperately sign an unproven McGrady to a large offer. The same thing could happen to NY.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

To me, this is the biggest problem in the NBA - that it pays to tank and dump salary.  At least the C's rose to the elite by acquiring young talent for trades.  Dumping salary just for a FA signing is weak, in my book.  I hope it doesn't work out for the Knicks, cause they couldn't do it the "honest" way.

If I'm the Knicks I go after Wade and Amare or Bosh rather than Lebron. Let LaBrick James go after the money somewhere else and get two class acts instead of that crybaby.
