Celtic Fans in Memphis?

Hey Everyone.  I'm going on a road trip this week, so I will not be around to watch the C's (I will be DVR'ing the games anyways).  I plan on being in Memphis on Friday night, and was wondering if there is anywhere that I can catch the Cs game.  Does anyone know of any bars or restaurants that would have the game on?  I hate to miss a game, so i'd really love to watch it in Memphis.  Anything??

I lived in Nashville the past 2 years, so Memphis was the closest place for me to watch the C's live.  I only got out to 1 game, but I'd think that any of the bars on Beale Street would have it on.  It's a little touristy over there, but the food was good.

On the same note, I don't think that you'd have any trouble getting tickets for as low as $5 outside the Forum on game night.  When I went last year the arena was maybe 40% full, and at no point did the ushers check my seats - we ended up sitting 2 rows off the court. 

It's definitely worth trying to scalp for a game, even if you're looking to save money.  For the cost of 1-2 beers you can get a seat no problem.

I don't know where you are staying, but your best bet is to go to Buffalo Wild Wings. There is one on Poplar. As Champ said, Downtown has a lot of bars and if you look hard enough I'm sure one will probably have NBA leage pass. Come to think of it, I think I recall seeing a sign for it in a window of an Irish bar on 3rd St. across from the Fedex Forum.

Just to reiterate what Jon said, Buffalo Wild Wings is a great place to watch sports. They have multiple projector TV screens up high on the walls, so they're easy to see no matter where you sit. Plus they have good chicken wings with a huge selection of sauces to choose from.

And no, I'm not a BWW employee. I just like the place a lot.

Thanks everyone.  I'm leaving Ct now and will be there sometime.  I do not know where I'm staying yet.  I'm really only going to be in town for one night, but I'll see what I can find.  Any suggestions for off the beaten path BBQ?

You will want to be very careful about "off the beaten path" here in Memphis. Neighborhoods can get pretty scary in the blink of an eye. Corky's is pretty famous, and you won't go wrong if you end up there. I usually go to Central BBQ. It's local, cheap, and quite good. If you are willing to eat something other than BBQ, the Soul Fish Cafe on Cooper is really good. In fact, I highly recommend visiting any of the Cooper-Young area restaurants. The area is safe, non-touristy, has a decent variety of ethnic and local cuisine, and some fun nightlife Thursday-Saturday. The restaurants are very reasonably priced and I haven't been disappointed with the food at any of them. Main Street (downtown) has a bunch of higher-end restaurants that are very good and within walking distance of Beale St (if that is more your speed).
