WOW. I was happy when I heard that he was in the running for the MVP but I never actually expected he would win it. I am very surprised that he won. Off the top of my head I cant really think of anyone who deserves it more but he doesn't really seem to have MVP worthy numbers.
I know he played great D and came up with some big hits but I usually think of power hitters when I think of MVP. He only had 83 RBI and 17 HRs. That has to be the lowest of any MVP in a while. Don't get me wrong I love Pedroia. I just don't think of him as the best, or most valuable, player on our team let alone the AL.
