Understandable,but if we could have it our way all the time a lot of the fouls called would be overturned to.Tommy is Tommy and thats what you going to get,annoying  sometimes i can understand you but i wouldn't trade his annoyance for other person's views for anything in the world.Look on it as humor the next time and you will feel a lot better about it.Thats how i get by when someone or something annoys me.Let it go. :)We Love Tommy !

You could pretty much take the player and the attribute out of that sentence and inset any young Celtic since Tommy's been on air.  He loves the Celtics with all his heart.  They're like his grandkids at this point.  He wants the best for them and tends to see things through green tinted glasses.

Honestly, I think a lot of the over the top stuff is intended as humor at some level.  It's his schtick.

yeah, i haven't had the NBA ticket long enough to really tell at this point.  I live in Maryland but i've been a huge C's fan all my life.  I switched back to Direct TV from FIOS just so i could get the NBA ticket this year (and NFL ticket).

I don't think so.  Tommy truly has disdain for the referees and thinks they ruin the game.  I think if it was schtick, he would be doing the same thing when he's in the studio with Tanguay.  But he's much more calm there becauses he's not responding in the moment.

What Dick Vitale does is schtick.  I think Tommy's genuine.

Yeh, I guess I meant that at some degree it is part of his act - in the sense that it's almost obligatory that he complain about the refs.  I don't doubt that he feels what he's saying, but I also think it's part of the routine that he complain so vociferously (in the tradition of Johnny Most).

Tommy's an institution.

Still love listening to him.  He can actually still provide really good insight when he wants to but it just seems overshadowed by some of his antics.

Are you serious? His analyses of game situations are the best. No one gives us a breakdown of what is happening out there on the floor better. Aaahhh, refs or not, Tommy is still, even at his age, terrific. Heh, the guy is a hall of famer, a former player on eight championship teams I think,  and coach of two championship teams, having designed that delayed fast break with Cowens to perfection, utilizing Dave's outside scoring skills. It also was essentially Tommy's game plan that led to our beating Milwaukee in the eastern finals that led to one of those champioships. I think it was '76.  The guy is just terrific, one of my favorite Celts of all time.

For those young guys that find Tommy annoying it's a good thing you never got to listen to Johnny Most!! You would have hated him!!

Of course I hold both men near and dear to my heart because of their very green eyesight and insight.
