i don't know how he could be "too dominant." he's not unstoppable and neither is his team. no one's considering special rules for him. he's not the best player in the league. I don't see it.

I'll say this for Howard:  The upward curve has been steady.  He's only 23 and he's yet to miss a game in his 4+ year NBA career.
Yup

He's nasty, but he's not taking over games, and not the most dominant player in the league.

If you can't hit your free throws (especially when it counts like Shaq does) then you can't "take over" a game or "dominate".

I think it would be much more accurate to say that he's dominating the paint, which he certainly is.

The problem is that if the game is close, it is in the opposing teams' best interest to foul Howard and put the pressure on him at the line (where he shoots less than 60%).

Yesterdays game? Hes being doing it since he stepped foot on the NBA courts. Last year he was pretty much guaranteed a double-double every night.

5-3?? What do you expect. They're point guard was suppose to be "nice" and he isn't even doing what everyone was expecting the last couple years. The only 2 players I see on they're with better then average talent is Mr. Superman and Turk... Rashard Lewis has yet to show me.

5-3 proves he is not too dominant for the league. Teams can beat his team. If he carries them to a championship, then I'll agree.

"Game" wise he's going to compare more closely with Shaq.  The Dream had a totally different offensive approach - his career high for FG% was .538 his rookie year.

Shaq is a career .581 shooter...Howard .569...Dunks, dunks and more dunks

So the question is: will Howard develop an outside shot? Shaq didn't, but he got so far with his size. Howard is huge, but not Shaq-huge.

He doesn't need an outside shot. He needs more and more polished post moves, a more diversified and refined offensive arsenal. Until then, he's not going to be too dominant.
