As what I have seen last year, and so far this year, it looks like Mr. Superman is dominating. Didn't he have like a crazy number of dunks last year also. I'm glad I drafted him in my fantasy league on both of my teams. Its like hes becoming a slimmer Shaq even though hes still pretty young.. Whats your input?

No, he isn't. His team is only 5-3. How is that dominant.

Don't get so excited over his game last night.

I'm not sure about "too dominant".  He is definitely a force, though.  On any given night, he can go for 30 and 15, with 5 blocks.

He's not quite at Shaq's level yet, though.  Shaq was *averaging* close to 30 points per night.

Yesterdays game? Hes being doing it since he stepped foot on the NBA courts. Last year he was pretty much guaranteed a double-double every night.

5-3?? What do you expect. They're point guard was suppose to be "nice" and he isn't even doing what everyone was expecting the last couple years. The only 2 players I see on they're with better then average talent is Mr. Superman and Turk... Rashard Lewis has yet to show me.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
He's nasty, but he's not taking over games, and not the most dominant player in the league.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

A wee bit of hyperbole ;)

If he was too dominant he'd score every point of every game and not allow the opponent to score any points.  Now THAT would be dominant for the league and they'd have to consider some rule changes or something.

For real...Howard is a beast, that much is clear.  Still, as others said, for him to be considered the best his team has to be better.

Perhaps, he'll follow in Shaq's shoes and need to leave Orlando for greener pastures before having playoff success (please don't say purpler and golder pastures).

Maybe he'll join Kobe and get 3 rings back2back2back... haha...

Too dominant, no. Very impressive, yes. Dwight has every physical tool to be a beast for a long time in the NBA, and it wouldn't surprise me if very soon, he is the consensus number one center.

Some interesting stats:

Hakeem's best stat year = 24.3/14/4.6 (pts/rbs/blks) in 1989-90
Shaq's best stat year = 29.7/13.6/3.0 in 1999-2000
Howard's currents stats = 23.9/15/4.4

I think this puts into perspective how great a season Howard could have (statistically). Let's not take it for granted. He may get better, but this is pretty darn good.

"Game" wise he's going to compare more closely with Shaq.  The Dream had a totally different offensive approach - his career high for FG% was .538 his rookie year.

Shaq is a career .581 shooter...Howard .569...Dunks, dunks and more dunks

Was Wilt Chamberlain too dominant? He put up numbers no human being will ever put up again in this league and yet his teams lost the preponderance of the championships year after year in his time.

Dominant teams will overcome dominant individuals every time.

So the question is: will Howard develop an outside shot? Shaq didn't, but he got so far with his size. Howard is huge, but not Shaq-huge.

Yeh, it's weird, with Howard's body type - although huge - he still has more of a spread out body than Shaq, and you'd think he'd be able to develop a bit of a shot.  That'd be scary.
