I thought Tommy was very entertaining last night and was dead on about Pierce being in the zone, well before I thought the Captain had established that he was at "another level".  Watching a guy shoot when you know he's not going to miss is something special,

I also thought the old routine of jinxing the foul shots was particularly humorous for some reason last night.  Tommy asking Mike to say something negative about a Celtic so something good would happen etc...Then having Rondo miss a layup followed by Tommy saying, "See, you should have said something bad about him."

When O'Neal missed two FT's
"Ohhhh you're good. You deserve an honorary degree from Witchcraft U."  It's so old, yet endearing.

Anyhow, last night it struck my funny bone.

Wish I could have given a TP to the Cous for his insights last night as well, but Comcast has their head stuck in something.

I love Tommy. He gets a TP from me every game.  I really miss him when I am stuck with the other team's feed on League Pass.

While I must admit, sometimes I find Tommy funny, I think it's time. I'm sorry but last night, Rondo goes down the middle, all alone and misses a layup. Tommy screams out, "you can't ask for more than that". I'm thinking, well hitting it would be better. If someone makes a nice pass tommy always says somrthing along the lines of "that's what makes him one of the GREAT passers in this league. Everything is GREAT with him when it comes to the Celtics. No ones just good or okay. Also, I guess it's just me but this whole getting on the ref's thing evrey game is getting really old.
To me it's kind of like listening to your old drunken uncle telling you stories of the good old days. They're amusing enough, but certainly not informative. Sorry, but after a while it just gets annoying.
That being said, put me down in the Maxwell camp, although I don't dislike Donny as much as others seem to.

Celts55,

Hating on Tommy are you? That's who he is pal. He's a homer and has good reason to be (i.e. championships both as a player and coach). We all love him for who he is and the excitement he brings to the game. He's just a passionate Celtics fan who is the epidemy (sp?) of Celtic Pride. Hating on him is hating on the team, the organization, the fans, etc...he's calling the home games for a reason. Shame on you.

And there you have the two sides of watching/listening to Tommy.

I hear what Celts55 is saying, but you really have to turn a deaf ear on that stuff.  To me, the positives still outweigh the negatives.

i get ur point,
but that is the difference between a local and national broadcast team. since he is only calling celtics games, i want him to,  and he should be passionate about the celtics. he has been associate with this team his whole life. just think about it.
so i dont mind him saying these things even though he might be wrong, but he does bring a lot of excitement and fun to the game

Everyone's entitled to their opinions. You can love Tommy or hate him, and I'll respect you either way. But I'm downright sick of seeing the words "Tommy" and "drunk" in the same sentence.

but the destruction, that hopefully will come about  ;D

WOW. Shame on me I guess. I didn't realize I was disrespecting the entire organization, fans, as well as i assume the free world. Listen, I'm not "hating on him" I'm mearly stating my opinon on his style. I said that at times he funny. I don't hate or even dislike him. I wish him and the red head from Needham the best, but I find him annoying sometimes. Sorry but that's just how i feel. I trully wish that as a former coach and player he would bring more insite into the game. I must admit that many times when I listen to him, it's hard to fathom that he was a coach at one time.
It's just my opinion. Please don't take it so personally. Listen to him all you want. Turn the volume up as loud as it goes for all I care. I can respect that you like him. Seems like a lot of people do.

Do you see the words "tommy" and "drunk" in the same sentence that often? ???

Seriously, I did not mean to imply Tommy was a drunk. When I read it back, I can see why it would appear that way and I apologize to you, Tommy( if he's reading this) and any drunks I may have offended.
