I don't know if it is the longest but, how about "typewriter"?

That's the one!

"Perpetuity" ties that.

Here is a non basketball, but still sports jeopardy question:

This player hit a home run in his first minor league at bat and his first major league at bat.  Against Fernando Venezuela and Nolan Ryan respectively.

Another hint:  He was my favorite player.

Marco "Polo" Scutaro ...haha yep...

Nick got it.  Will "The Thrill" Clark.  Direct descendent of William Clark of Lewis and Clark.

Take it up with my jr. high principal!

Wikipedia saves the day:

Quote
The longest English words typable using only the top row of letters are, from the largest to smallest: rupturewort, pepperwort, perpetuity, proprietor, and typewriter. The word teetertotter (used in North American English) is longer, although it is usually spelled with a hyphen.

"Rupturewort".  You've been lied to, Redz.

3 days go by and no one takes the torch? :(

Okay, I've got one:

Who did Peyton Manning supplant at QB at Tennessee after an injury? Don't look it up. Anyone can do that.

I think it was Helton.

I've always thought that that was neat.
