It's Time for a Top 20 list, As the best bloggers in the world see it. Now again this is total Impact on the game offense defense and since defense wins you get extra credit for that. Also big men get the nod when in doubt which is why certain people are so high on my list.

1 King James. Starting to like him less and less but he is king
2 Kg I argued this all the way through the playoffs he is a better all around impact player than Kobe the ego Bryant.
3 Kobe god I hate him but he's good
4 CP-3 although not a big man at all this is what I mean by impact hard to argue many players impact the game more than cp
5 D-Wayne If he was healthy all the time I'd take him over Ego bryant
6 C bosh
7 Timmy Duncan Aging but come on, he's still Timmy.
8 The truth. Yea that's what's up.
9 Amare
10 D-Williams
11 Melo no d but a whole lotta O
12 D Howard if he just got a little smarter Wow.
13 Yao. I must admit I forgot about him altogether until this slot so it must be fate he ends up here.
14 Baron Hollywood Davis So him out at a club with multiple warriors a little while back should have seen him Big glasses funny jacket and clothes, a real character and a hell of a player
15 A.I. never played much d but still respect him
16 E Brand stay healthy big man
17-20 help me out guys who deserves to be here possibles
T mac
Gilbert
Dirk
Joe J
Big Al
D west
Boozer
feel free to ad other names But I like my 16 Peace.

Guys that need to move up:

CP3
Kobe
T Mac
Paul Pierce (oh he earned it.)
Dirk Nowitski

Guys that need to move down:

KG
Chris Bosh
Allen Iverson

Note on KG:
He's a game changer, but he's not a turn it on turn it off kinda impact guy like Pierce, Kobe, CP3 are. He changes games 10 at a time, not a quarter at a time, which is what I take impact to mean.

He changes the emotional layout of a team but I don't think his thing is taking over a game anymore, at least not on a top 20 level.

Tracy McGrady though....

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
20 is to long a list,in my opinion, so I'll go with 10. In a single game scoring is easily the biggest game changers so my list is bias to scorers.

1 - Kobe - 81 points in a single game needless to say they won.

2 - Lebron - He dominates at almost every aspect

3 - Pierce - can keep a team in a game with his scoring alone

4 - Nowitzki - say what you like about his toughness, but he's a matchup nightmare, and pretty clutch. I'll admit he's lost some of what made him so scary since the Mavs/Heat finals, and it's only getting worse.

5 - Wade - When he's hot he makes some of the most ridiculous shots, and can be near impossible to stop. I still think he's overrated.

6 - Paul - He can create something from nothing.

7 - McGrady - Has the ability to dominate the same way as Lebron doesn't do it enough though.

8 - Duncan - One of the few big men who actually takes over a game. He had a couple 30/15 games in the play-offs, and hit some big shots.

9 - Ginobli - Super complete player might be as underrated as Pierce. A lot of spurs fans think he is.

10 - Davis - definitely top five when it comes to clutch, too bad he hasn't played many truly meaningful close games.

If you think someone was too high, too low, or just missing from my list. I'll gladly explain my reasoning.

Edit:2nd attempt.

I don't think T-Mac impacts the game as much as he used to anymore.

As this is "Top Impact Players" this is my list, this is not an order of "Best Players" - although the top #2 wouldn't change.

1 - Kobe
2 - LeBron
3 - Wade
4 - Dirk
5 - Pierce
6 - Paul
7 - Ginobili
8 - McGrady
9 - Arenas
10 - Anthony

I strongly considered KG for that list, because he is just too quick, too strong and too big for anyone to match up against him; if he wanted he could take over every night. We know he's more than that and his "weak mentality" has been well documented so I wont go into that, but potentially, KG is a top 5 impact player.

A couple of things about KG:

Last year he averaged 20.7 points per 36 minutes. His career high was 22.1, not much higher. His scoring hasn't declined as much as people think.

His per36 scoring of 20.7 was better than Pierce's 19.7 last year. He also outscored Paul in the playoffs.

His on court/off court differential was 5th highest in the league last year.

His scoring rate was in the top 20 for the league last year and he was defensive player of the year.

How these add up to not being an impact player is beyond me.

Thank you last couple of people for sticking up For KG.

My main point is if you want to win A basketball game. Or a championship for that matter you need A guy that's about 7 feet tall Playing in that game.

Now you need the 6'6" guard too which we have. You can't do it with just the 7 footer or just the guard. That said the Big guy is more important. Ask Kobe who is better Pau And Bynum Combined. Or Shaq in his Prime.

To anyone that thinks there are 10 guys that Impact the game more than KG Wow!

anyone who ranks like that, IMO, is dazzeled by:

PPG.

if you look at that ridiculous "KG not even top 15-20" thread, thats ENTIERLY what its based on. "he doesn't score alot, so he stinks now"

Can I get your reasoning on why Manu Ginobili is a more impactful player than any of the people listed 5-20? I have seen him always as a great player but NEVER a top 20 NBA player.

Manu makes a huge impact, largely because he comes off the bench and sparks the boring Spurs.

If Manu was playing on any other "non-boring" team, he wouldn't make much of an impact.

This is the second day in a row I read a thread and just go "wow".  For the second day in a row, I'm reading a thread with people arguing that Kevin Garnett isn't one of the 20 best (or most impactful, or whatever) players in the NBA.  I'm...stunned.  I keep starting to type something, but it's such a ridiculous premise that I don't even know where to begin.

I even read one list that didn't have KG OR Duncan among the top-10.  But Arenas and Melo are on the list?  Really???

Just...wow.

Call me out then instead of masking your displeasure. I'll be more than happy to explain. Then again, if you'd read the whole post I wouldn't need to explain.
