Tivo is showing everything as blackout, which kinda makes sense because of it being from Comcast Sports Network. Am I really not gonna get any CSNHD Celtics?

I got FIOS. Typically you get home games in HD and no HD with the away games. This is what happen last year and the same could be said with the pre-season. Any TNT or ESPN game would be in HD.

I saw signs for "All games in HD" from Comcast. Could be worse. 2 years ago I got FIOS right when it came out and they didn't have the rights to any Celtic games. They finally resolved the contract half way through the season. I came really close to canceling FIOS.

I have Fios as well and when Comcast launched the road games in HD on the west coast I picked them up and then it stopped.  Did Comcast drop the road games in HD? or was it Fios because they have a dedicated channel.

This is not good.. last night was the first road game I tried watching in HD.  Verizon FIOS techies had no solid answer for me, all they could say was "we're not getting the HD signal either"... the standard def is lousy on a rear-projection 53" monitor... I may be dropping FIOS quickly if all I get is the home games.

I switched from RCN to FIOS over the summer.  I've been trying to get some information on why I can't get Comcast SportsNet HD for road games (or home games for that matter).

I'm told by Verizon that it's a contract issue, but it's not possible for a customer to talk to anyone with any authority.  I called CSN and was told that Verizon had just declined to pick up the CSN HD feed.

Last week I emailed a Celtics executive who will look into it.  I asked a Herald reporter to chase it down as well (he should ask FIOS endorser KG for a comment).  If it doesn't get resolved I'm thinking that a PR campaign is the only way to go, perhaps with a courtesy notice to Verizon corporate public relations department.  My Celtics seats are visible on TV, so I could always just have a "FIOS Hates Celtics Fans" sign or something.

This brings to mind the slogan from the fake Saturday Night Live commercial with Lily Tomlin:

We don't care.  We don't have to care.  We're the phone company.

Anyway, let's see if they get their act together for the Sunday 11/9 game at Detroit.

I had DirecTV and switched to FiOS.
I'm switching back to DirecTV because FiOS doesn't have NBA League Pass and no Celtics games in HD.

Maybe when others drop FiOS because of they'll wake up.

Thanks for responses.  Its very disapointing.  Having the home games in HD is pretty useless to me since I have season tickets anyways.  I think I may just have to give in and get Comcast.

Has anyone heard any recent updates on celtics in HD on FIOS? I think FIOS is decent, and probably has the best picture quality, but watching road games in low def is KILLING ME?

thanks

Is this still true?  I just ordered FIOS but will cancel if C's games aren't all in HD.

I find HD totally unwatchable.

I want to watch TV = Television.

I don't want to watch REAL LIFE.

Supposedly NBATV is in the works, which would bring League Pass along with it.  Of course, they said "Coming Soon" back in November.  They did just add MLBTV, so it probably wouldn't hurt to call and ask if there is any status update on NBATV and NBA League Pass.

As for the road games not being available in HD, it is a pain.  The one big downside of HD TVs is that many standard-def channels look like garbage.  I think Zeppo is totally doing the right thing here.  If Comcast and Verizon can't work something out, contact the Celtics directly, who could possibly intervene.  I would not be surprised if Comcast is asking for a ton of $$ for the rights to their HD feed as a way to stick it to their competition.  Personally I find it a bit unfair for a cable company to own a particular channel, because if they really wanted to they could pull it from Verizon and screw over the FIOS customers.

HUH?
So when you listen to the radio, you'd like to have a little static mixed in with the sound? And when you go on a scenic ride, youd like to have some fog and maybe a little rain as well? You don't make any sense. HD is where it's at my friend. It's the same thing except clearer, how is that unwatchable??

Update - I have FIOS and turned on CSNHD last night, and the programming was actually coming in.  It used to be C's home games and literally nothing else.  The big test will be tomorrow when the C's are in Miami.  If the game is being shown in HD, looks like problem solved.

Not too long ago, for the away game at Denver, the game came in on the CSNHD channel.  Don't really remember since then tho.

Comcast owns about a dozen channels and CSN seems to be the only one with HD problems.
