Based on Playoff team success

1) Rajon Rondo
2) Devin Harris
3) Deron Williams
4) Chris Paul

This seems odd.  ;)

I love Rondo but I think you have that list backwards:

1)Paul
2)Williams
3)Rondo
4)Harris

Not based on how far their teams have made it in the playoffs.

The gap is pretty big.

I'm assuming this is 25 and under and not under 30.

1) Paul
2) Williams
3) Rondo
4) Harris (I could see Rose cracking this spot)

I think the OP was just being silly, because he was looking at "playoff success"... meaning:  Rondo won a title.  That's like people who joked early on (prior to Miami's success) that Darko had a more successful career than Bron, Wade, Melo, Bosh, because he won a title as a rookie.

But if you're asking the question seriously...

I mean how young is young and what do we consider point guards?

obviously #1 and #2 is Chris Paul and Deron Williams.  Then there is a MASSIVE gap.

Gotta put Tony Parker up there somewhere.

Monta Ellis is up there if he's a point.

Some outside of Boston would argue that Jose Calderon, Mo Williams, Devin Harris and Raymond Felton are all better than Rondo.   Maybe you'd get someone who would argue that TJ Ford and Kirk Hinrich are better also.

As far as "who is the best prospect", you'll even get some people who will say Mike Conley and Derrick Rose both have more potential than Rondo.

But... maybe Rondo cracks the top 4 depending on how you want to look at it.

Tony Parker is better than Harris and Rondo right now. That may change by the end of the year.  Parker is still considered young (26?)
I am hoping Rondo continues to develop and I do think he has the potential to be at least the third best PG in the league. Unless Williams
or Paul move east, or Derrick Rose is the next Chris Paul, Rajon should have a good shot at an All Star appearance in the next couple of
years.  It will be interesting to see how much growth he has the next 2-3 years.

You are correct sir. Don't forget, Harris has played in the NBA finals. Have Chris Paul or Deron Williams been to an NBA finals let alone win one? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  ;)

I think Rondo is a better defensive player than the above. I honestly think because of his work ethic and drive we're seeing a similar player to Gary Payton.  So I don't think Conley or Williams has a higher ceiling, Nor do I think Felton and Harris are as good defensively. Calderon is legitimately better, but I'm not sure for how much longer.

Williams
Paul
Ford (when healthy)
Rondo

Rondo and Ford are pretty much switchable in my books.  Rondo is by far the best defensive player in the group but also plays with the most talent out of any of the others which at this stage of his devolpment helps.

Jordan Farmar should be 2 or 3. Like Harris, he came off the bench in the finals, so based on your criteria, Farmar should be ahead of Williams and Paul.

Silly concept.

Silly concept.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why it's a joke. I thought the winking smiley face was enough. Next time I'll add a disclaimer.
