is anyone else sick of this ump's strike zone???  he hasn't called ANY outside corner strikes.  Masterson is getting killed this inning by those no-calls.

His strike zone is awfully low, though.

i dunno, he didn't give Lester a lot of those curve balls at the bottom of the zone.

Looks good in the 9th.

Regardless of what happens now, here's some food for thought: how many games would the Sox have won had they stayed healthy and/or played in the AL West?

And you can ask that same question and just change the division for pretty much every subsequent round of the playoffs.

Hopefully Beckett can be his usual self come game 3.

The hatred I have for that city and those fans grows by the day.  Ya know New York fans, Chicago fans, Pittsburgh fans, Philly fans, they're all jerks, but at least they're passionate.  We're all the same just cheering for different laundry.  LA fans are pathetic, it's a different sporting world over there, and I'm glad I'm on this side of it.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
It's a wrap, gem by Lester tonight, Angels don't make it out of Boston. I hate the White Sox but I hope they take out the Rays for us, so the real Sox can walk right back into the World Series, and as usual crush the always inferior National League. Even if the Sox play the Rays in the ALCS, I like the Red Sox, playoff pedigree is going to shine through, as we saw tonight.

I hate 10 PM starts!!

I shut it off when Ortiz made it 4-1 in the 9th.

Very impressed, but a long way to go -- that Angels line up is capable of a lot of runs.
