I've been wondering why don't you see any 7 foot wide receivers in the NFL. Do you think Lebron could be a good NFL receiver. He was a stud wide out in HS. Lebron is like 6'9 260 and quick. If someone threw hail mary's too him couldn't he leap over everyone and grab it. And once he catches how is some small corner back suppossed to tackle him. Lebron is huge compared to NFL cornerbacks. Randy Moss is 6'4 and he uses his leaping ability(and pushing off  ;D) to school a lot of corners. Couldn't taller nba players like such as Kobe, Lebron, T-Mac, and others be stud wide receivers. Anyways why aren't their more taller linebackers and safeties. Couldn't Josh Smith make a good linebacker or Dwayne Wade.

I'm not a football head so I'm asking you guys.

It's right up with idea of getting the 800 pound, massively obese dude to play goalie in hockey.  Just prop him up, give him some pads and he'd cover the whole net - wouldn't even need a stick.

Seriously, I always thought Karl Malone would have been the ultimate tight end.

As for just having a really tall guy play hoops, he'd get pummeled.

Lebron would no doubt be an awesome football player, but he'd be nowhere near as marketable (and thus less rich)
Yup

Just being a big wr doesnt mean that you can catch the ball...doesnt mean you are fast enough to get down field, etc...

Linebackers need to be quick and strong.  do you think Dwayne Wade could get off a block put on him by an O lineman and then tackle the rb?  I dont.

LeBron would be a tight end in football. Do NBA players have the ability to transfer their skills to those of a professional football player, without a doubt. Do they have mentally what it takes to be a professional football player, that's another story.

Football training is a completely different animal and constitutes building mass around your body to withstand the physical beating while maintaining your physical gifts and talents. I'm not so sure most NBA players would want to endure the physicality that is NFL football. It's probably one of the reasons they leaned towards basketball as a child, it's just less physically demanding.

As for your question about tall players, most tall players once they put on the muscle necessary to play end up becoming lineman or TEs or QBs. Richard Seymour is 6'6". I think the Oakland Raiders boast having like 5 offensive linemen that are 6'7" or taller. Football on the defensive side of the ball is about maintaining a low center of gravity in order to maintain position and make tackles. It's just one of many reasons why you don't see giant linebackers or defensive backfield players.

My guess is if Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and Plaxico Burress did nothing but play basketball since they were kids they would have had a pretty decent shot at being NBA players. Could some NBA players become NFL wide receivers, sure, if they didn't mind taking the beating that those guys take.

What do mean less marketbale. Lebron runs a 40 in like 4.40 and he's huge and had good hands in HS atleast. Couldn't he just leap over anybody in the NFL. Also do you really think any cornerback or safety could take him down once he got the ball down. Or is their something else I don't know?

Could LeBrone leap over guys and catch a ball, sure, lots of guys in the NFL do it(see Anthony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Randy Moss). And not only could an NFL cornerback or safety take LeBron down, they could also probably hit him hard enough to make sure he doesn't get up. Don't underestimate the strength of these 5'11" guys who have spent their whole life practicing how to hit a person as hard as they possibly can. You would be amazed at just how easy it would be for them to tackle LeBron. Heck, NBA players take down LeBron just by breathing on him and it always takes a minute or so for him to get up while holding some body part like he just got shot. Why would NFL players not be able to do it?

Would Nike have signed him to a bazillion dollar contract right out of high school if he played football?
Yup
