Rajon taking more of a leading role this year?

OK, maybe I'm delusional, but I'm convinced that Rajon is going to be a perennial All-star.

My theory is right now he's on cruise control. He's just learning how to contribute in a system within the flow of a game. Later he's going to learn how to take over games the way All-stars like PP, KG, and Ray do, be it with scoring, passing, or defense. He'll be like the pass first Tony Parker with better defense and less floaters!  ... but then again I'm probably delusional

I couldn't agree more.  That's exactly how I see him in the future.

I couldn't agree more.  That's exactly how I see him in the future. 

Don't sleep on his floater though.

I'm expecting his floater to improve a lot. It was supposed to be a big part of his game coming out of college. The times I've seen him use it almost always looked rushed. I think the size, and athleticism of NBA defenders makes it more difficult to know where they can and can't reach. When he figures it out he will probably have a consistent floater, but Tony Parker's floater is just ridiculously consistent.

I was also impressed by what KG said about Rondo. Last year KG, PP and RA made the calls to get the players here. This year Rondo took the initiative. We got off to a great start last year because the players, on their own, took the initiative to start working together after labor day. Now they're doing it again. I don't know if any other team in the league has this type of attitude. These guys do not have to be here, but they are and we have something that is very special. Let's appreciate and enjoy it. As an aside, this could not happen if not for Rick Pitino. The one positive thing Rick did for this team was to get the Waltham facility built. Before that the Celtics were always scrounging around for places to practice. Now the have a place that all players have access to 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.

Tony Parker is awesome at finishing around the basket.  It's one area I think Rajon really needs to work on.  If he comes close to finishing around the basket as Parker he will surpass Parker as a player as he brings more of everything else to the table. 

I think Rajon's play is really key in extending our run as contenders and I think he could be a top 5 PG in our league if he continues to work hard.  Good to see he got everyone together early.   You don't see that on too many teams.

9 lbs of muscle?  That's great news.  I think it'll be extremely beneficial for him to bulk up.  The one concern I've had in the past is his size and worries that he might get banged up.

Definitely looking forward to seeing him make the leap this season.

The Boston.com Celtics Blog has had a few entries today.  I don't remember if it was 7 or 9 but it was something around there.  The site also has some quotes from Miles and the Big Three.

Also i like the way he is squaring up better when shooting(open stance). Its not pretty but they went in today. Rivers should tell him to shoot at least 3 fg a game regardless if he misses or not (if he hadn't)

Rondo is a gifted player that continues to grow & improve every season. Its amazing how rondo sees the floor so well & that killer speed (catch me if you can). The best part about him is that he's not a scoring PG like so many nowadays, he is a true PG that looks to dish every time.

One thing about the slump is that it appears that the defensive ideology of backing off Rondo is paying off for the Celtics because it sure does look like Rondo has been putting some time in with his outside shot. He's squaring to the basket, his release is a lot smoother and better timed with his jump and the overall flow looks much better. They might not be all going in but the form looks so much better over the last 5-7 games or so.
