If, by some quirk of the schedule, we played Atlanta in the ECF, we would have destroyed them.  The fact that the series went to 7 games had a LOT to do with the C's underestimating the Hawks and also really being out of synch after having cruised through the past month.

OTOH, had we faced either Cleveland or Detroit in the first round, we'd probably be sitting around yelling at Doc Rivers still never having taken a team beyond the first round.

Atlanta might get a little bit better this year, but it'll be because of Josh Smith and Al Horford, not because of Mike Bibby.  Bibby's done, toast, kaput as an above-average PG.  He's not terrible (yet), but he's no longer good enough to be the starting PG on a team with any serious playoff aspirations.  IMHO, of course.

no, atlanta was overly physical, but they didn't scare me. it's our nerves that almost blew it for us, IMO. i knew in my heart before the playoffs started that cleveland would be our biggest issue, but other than that, i wasn't scared of anyone, including the lakers. you could say i overestimated our team, but you'd be wrong, cuz they did exactly what i expected.

they lost childress, who if you remember, seemed to cause quite a few problems for us in that series. bibby doesn't put them over the top, maybe a couple of years ago, but not now.

anyways, as far as athleticism goes, i'll take the bobcat's team any day of the week. now that they have a better coach at the helm, i expect (at least hope) that they'll be able to grab the 8th seed in the east. actually, i hope they grab the 7th, cuz i don't wanna play them in the first round  ;)

good point.

I also love Charlotte.  Gerald Wallace is the MAN.  Let's just hope he doesn't get any more concussions.  As for Charlotte making the Playoffs?  I would still say ATL is ahead of them, but with a stronger philly, toronto and other aspiring teams in the east I wouldn't be surprised if either of em didn't make it.

I think Charlotte over Atlanta. I thought Charlotte would for sure make the playoffs last year. They looked really good on paper.

PG: Felton
SG: Richardson
SF: Wallace
PF: Okafor
C: Hollins or whoever it was

Bench wasn't that good but they still had a better team than ATL.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

yeah, i've always pulled for the bobcats when they aren't playin us. okafor's a beast when healthy, jrich is great when healthy, raymond felton's up and coming with a great skill set, and gerald wallace is the man, when healthy.

the biggest thing for them now is, you guessed it, staying healthy...

I live next door to Charlotte.  The problem with the Bobbiecats is that Felton, JRich, and whoever their starting center is, maybe Nazr, are all weak defenders.  Also, their bench is weak as well.  Crash, otherwise known as GWallace, is injury prone due to his style of play and his midrange outside game is very suspect.
