Nice to see the workout vids, these guys are amazing atheletes.  Good to see the Vets working out with the young guys.

Agreed -- best quote is PP's at the end of the video: "You think winning a championship is easy?"
Celtics fan for life.

I remember playing college ball and how tough I used to work out so I have a serious appreciation for these guys.  B-Doo and Walter Norton Jr. do an excellent job with their strength and conditioning for our boys.  The tire run, as unorthadox as it may look, is an excellent way to build leg strength and conditioning through resistance.  And the medicine ball toss helps with their explosiveness.  I love seeing how hard we're working despite our success last year.  Maybe they all saw the disrespect from the "experts" picking the Lakers and used that as extra motivation.

He wasnt sucking his thumb. He was blowing on it to "pump up" his arms. It was related to what they were talking about, Bill Walkers arms.

Would be interested in seeing what the Big Men are up to. POB needs to be putting on some weight. BBD needs to shed some. Perk is strengthening his shoulder; but want to see about POB's commitment to make a fresh start and contribute to the NBA champions efforts for another banner.

Can't stop watching this, saw it a couple days ago, but is still fun. At the end you can see tony Allen running with the tires. Was disappointed to not see more explosiveness from him; however, he may just know to let Paul win. Giddens at least does not seem to back down from the competition. Given that TA'a main issue has been confidence. Not sure why they signed him only to have him go up against such stiff rookie competition.

See, as a sports fan, i love comments like this. And i'm not even disagreeing with this comment, but I just love forgetting that Paul Pierce is, quite simply, a world class athlete. It may simply be the case that not only is Paul Pierce more skilled than TA, or more "driven," but he may even be more athletic as well; this is what makes pierce a top 20 NBA player and TA simply a hopefully valuable bench player.

basically, I love the fact that every single NBA player is in the top .1% of athletes world wide, yet even amongst those elite athletes, some possess the athleticism and skill to rise themselves above others.

The fact may be that PP has had an incredible NBA career not only because he has incredible skills, but because he has the athleticism to outperform someone like TA, who is pretty much only in the NBA due to his athleticism.

Since the big trade was made last year there's been so much talk about our "aging veterans". Well, PP not only held his own in this workout against the kids, he beat them. Also, these workouts would need to be tough on the knees. PP didn't look at all bothered by his knee. Got to love it.

So why did we sign TAllen. He definitely did not seem to be going 100% in the video. And yes Pierce is amazing. Would not be surprised if Giddens blows TA out of the water by the start of the season.

IMO signing Tony Allen was a reaction to losing Posey. If we signed Maggette or resigned Posey I am not sure we still have Tony Allen. Just a gut reaction as I do like Tony Allen and would like to see him return to form. I agree with you that it is possible that we see Giddens send Tony to the 'not dressed' list after a few games. 8)

PP is incredibly underrated athletically - IMHO. It's that his game has a kind of workman like style to it that makes people feel he is an average athlete. Even after out playing guys like Kobe - and guarding them one on one he can't shake this stigma. But he never bought into it. He has told people he is the best athlete on the team - and no one believes him. He told people he is one of the best in the world but our own fans continue to denigrate him compared to Kobe or Lebron.

I think most star players are more athletic then people realize. Even Larry Bird moved pretty well prior to his injury. Without some baseline athleticism your not going to be a star at your position in the NBA.

I'd like to see a Big Baby workout.  The difference between him coming back to camp in awesome shape and being the same fat slob we saw on the victory parade would be HUGE for him.  I fear he'll still be packing the pounds.

My bad - didn't see the Davis Weight watch thread.
