I did know about this months ago but it is odd that it's on ESPN's bottom line right now.  Did it just become official today or something?

And yes OP, there are a lot of the p words on here, but what do you expect?  A bunch of Boston fans, that's just who we are, you'll hopefully learn to love us, we really are a fun, passionate bunch to be around right now.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

Wow. There are some pretty big pri*k's on here. I am sorry I don't watch the oregon blogs like the link below, or pay attention to a guy in the offseason that was supposedly supposed to never play again.

Let me ask this question though... Would you rather be on here trying to point out something that maybe others did not know, or the as* wasting their time trying to jump on here and humiliate someone?!

Well, you were the jumping up and down on Miles calling him a "punk kid" and the C's should cut him. I don't know what you were expecting.

I have to agree here this time
you start this EJ
hopefully this year will be different for this ex punk

There was already a mention of his suspension on this blog like months ago when he was first trying out for us, it wasn't some big secret that Miles was trying to hide, Danny already knew of this long before we signed him.

I agree with zerophase, pointing out a story is one thing, but wrongfully attacking a player who is trying to change his image is another, thats what made alot of people upset.

While we are on the subject, how will this spin out from a legal standpoint? Does the make good contract stay in place while he is on suspension? Doesnt he have to actually make a team and be on someones roster on opening day for the suspension to take effect? At what point does that money go back onto Portlands cap? Are we somehow using his status to keep a roster spot open for a week or two into the season? This would certainly be a good ploy if we were going to cut him before his contract is guaranteed and sign a player waived at the last minute I guess.

Strategy and suspense from Danny to keep us guessing in the off season. 8)

the suspension starts when he is cleared physically able to play, the money goes on the Blazers cap when he actually plays in 10 NBA games.

Who has the authority to clear him? Is there a special process (since he was declared unable by a league approved 'process') or just our team doctors? I just assumed that we or anyone could sign him and run him out there if we wanted to pay him. 8)

He's not much of a kid, the dude is pushing 30 now.

So he's not a punk kid, he's just a flat out punk.

My question is, was it just ****? That's an over the counter diet supplement. I don't think that's much to get all worked up over.

I'd be more concerned about his horrible attitude, and his horrible knee.

Not one person up to that made any mention of me saying we should cut him based on this. Every single negative comment was based on the fact that it was old news. The only thing I would change would be that Danny then should have never signed him in the first place. What ounce of proof do you have that he somehow is trying to change his image?! I think he should be cut due to the fact that he is wasting a needed roster spot and won't be able to even play the first ten games, on top of the fact that it isn't likely he will return from the injury.

If you want to disagree with that assessment, then fine. To attack me personally just because I somehow missed an insignificant story before the guy was even mentioned as an option for the C's is ridiculous.

Edgar- as a moderator your comment of "you brought this on yourself" seems to not be in line with CBlog rules. Since when is someone bringing up a topic justification for personal attacks? As tight as you guys are on this it seems that it must only matter who you are...

He is already cleared to play, so his first game (if he makes the roster) will be at Milwaukee.

I know very little about D. Miles, but what I do know makes me very concerned that he might upset the applecart.  I read Celticsblog speficially to learn more about this stuff.

This Boston team accomplished one spectacular feat, coming together as a team in a single season to win a championship.  Protecting that team attitude and the ability to play together is precious and a very relevant topic of discussion.  We could be posting about POB, Giddens, or Scal if it were announced one of these guys will be serving a drug suspension, especially with the guys preparing to report in a few weeks.  Heck, Scal doesn't need a drug suspension to draw negative commentary.

Glad to learn the suspension is no big deal, but I can't say I'm entirely relieved just yet.  Time will tell.
