Nice job Miles. It makes you wonder if Danny knew this. Just what we need on our team. Punk kids... I say cut him. We don't need detractors.

I think we all know this already and it was already clear that he was going to be suspended 10 games to start off the season.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Isn't this old news?  The drug that was detected in his system was a diet pill.

I think this has been fully vetted and determined to be "No Big"

of course Danny knew it - Portland was telling everyone that would listen to try to sway people not to sign miles

this is a non-story, thanks for playing

Does this thread remind anyone else of the scene from Dumb and Dumber when Jim Carey is walking out of the bar and notices the framed newspaper of the first moon landing?   ;)

Hahaha.

Common guys ease up.  Yes most of us probably knew this already.

This guy just hasn't been following as closely as some of us.

I'm sure its happened to all of us, you see some news you think your the first to hear it.  You rush onto CELTICSBLOG before you check deeper into the souce.  You think your the first to post it, and then you get put in check.

It happens to the best of us.  Regardless it is true, the suspension is old news, several years old in fact.  Just something we will have to deal with.

All right, color me confused here.  Miles has been out of the league for two years, yet he failed a drug test at the end of last season?  And if this is such an old story, why is espn's & nba.com's dateline for the stoty today, 9/19/2008?

The suspension was officially announced only today, but has been known for a while:

Darius Miles faces 10-game suspension

Darius Miles, the former Trail Blazers forward who is looking for employment within the NBA, will be a little less attractive to teams today after it was learned that Miles is subject to a 10-game suspension for violating the league's Anti-Drug program.

Miles has been injured, but he wasn't waived till last April, so for all effects he wasn't out of the league.

I haven't even looked, but it's probably because today was the day the suspension was made official by the league. Everyone already knew about it, but today it was formalized, so all of the beat writers probably feel obligated to write a blurb about it...

BREAKING NEWS!!!! C's have just signed PJ Brown for the remainder of the 2007-2008 season.

Haha, sorry had to  ;)  It is a little silly that the news outlets are reporting it today like its something new. I really don't think Miles is going to see the floor ever for the C's. I think Ainge is just messing with Portland. Still a little mad at them over Bassy maybe ;D

Of course Danny knew this, the 10 game suspension is not a big deal at all, he probably wasn't going to play in the first 10 games anyways more time to recover.

old news? whew....

for a second i thought maybe miles was some sort of irresponsible, immature nba player.

Wow. There are some pretty big pri*k's on here. I am sorry I don't watch the oregon blogs like the link below, or pay attention to a guy in the offseason that was supposedly supposed to never play again.

Let me ask this question though... Would you rather be on here trying to point out something that maybe others did not know, or the as* wasting their time trying to jump on here and humiliate someone?!

Well, you were the jumping up and down on Miles calling him a "punk kid" and the C's should cut him. I don't know what you were expecting.
