Just an FYI, I'm heading to bed but just saw this. For anyone in CT interested in going.  I'm hoping to sneak out on my lunch break, we will see.

Allen, Others To Bring NBA Trophy To State
Rell Declares Thursday 'Celtics Day'

POSTED: 12:23 pm EDT September 17, 2008
[NEWSVINE: Allen, Others To Bring NBA Trophy To State]
HARTFORD, Conn. -- Members of the Boston Celtics will bring the 2008 NBA World Championship trophy to Connecticut on Thursday.

Gov. Jodi Rell has declared the day "Boston Celtics Day."

Players and executives from the team will bring the trophy to the State Capitol building in Hartford for public viewing from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Leading the group will be Connecticut's own Ray Allen. Allen was a star payer at the University of Connecticut from 1993 to 1996. He finished his career third on the school's all-time scoring list and was named to the Huskies' All-Century team in 2001.

Celtics guards Rajon Rondo and Tony Allen and team president Rich Gotham will also come to the state.

Connecticut did an awful job advertising for this.  There weren't even any signs or anything.  I was hoping for some sort of sign "Connecticut welcomes the 2008 World Champ Boston Celtics" but there was NOTHING.  I was only able to get a quick 2 second real look at the trophy then I took the Pic with Ray, Lucky, and 2 cheerleaders and that was it.  Definitely nice they had it, just wish it was a bigger event and possibly outside.

Rondo and Tony must have come later. Didn't see them at all, nor did I see JoJo

Yea, this was really poorly done.  I'm as big a C's fan as anyone...scouring the web for info, but i didn't even know about this until I came in to work this morning.  I did get the opportunity to take off from work for a few hours.  I went there and waited in line.  I got a pic with myself, Ray, the cheerleaders, lucky, and most importantly the Trophy.  I touched it too...That was the highlight of my week.  I just wish I came prepared with a real camera, I only had my cell phone.

As for Rondo, TA, JoJo and the rest, they were there when it started.  Through the line I could barely make out TA and JoJo.  I asked the woman at the front of the line what happened to them when I got up there and she said they had to leave.  She said they were only there for a few minutes, but they had to get to Washington to go visit the White House.  So they were there early, just not for very long.

I really wish it had been outside.  It would have been nice to see all the guys clearly.  Though being inside did make for clearer pictures.  And you have to hand it to Ray for sticking around and being gracious through it all.
