My personal favorite:
Cell Phone in Car Jammer: Jams cell phone signals from working within a moving vehicle with the exception of calls to 911 or police/fire depts.
This would prevent a lot of accidents and near misses that I see daily.

we need this in schools and colleges too! Kids use cells to cheat/text during class constantly, that'd be awesome to keep them from doing it - maybe we could make the phones catch fire too, if they were ued at innappropriate times

Might also help avoid train crashes if what I'm hearing is true.

DVR Cell Phone Connector - a part of your cell phone that you can control your DVR from when out of the house and check the television guide and set the DVR from remote access anywhere. No more being out and missing the game. Just set the DVR while you're out shopping or stuck late at work.

Nick,

Those were some great invention suggestions! I loved them all!

I thought I would point out to you that the DVR Cell Phone Connector has not only already been invented, but it is in full operation and available to the public. All you need is a slingbox, and a cell phone which you can feed your slingbox to (i.e. an HTC). A friend of mine has this and it's amazing! He is able to access his DirecTV box right from his cell phone, so not only can he watch TV on his cell phone right from his slingbox, but he can set DVR reminders etc...it's brilliant!

Someday i will patent a handheld black-light devise that you can scan the rows at any used CD/DVD/book store and any material that you would interested in will automatically light up.  This may involve some kind of Matrix-style brain stem plug.

Computer Replay Referees - get a computer program that monitors sports events through many different camera angles and then, based on a program written by that's sports rules, analyzes the game in real time and makes the proper call all the time instantly.

The "Don't Waste Your Time Meter" - a device that will scan the biorhythms of the opposite sex to check to see if you stand even a chance of landing a date or more. No more getting shut down before even getting started.

I have two. I hope no ones steals these and gets rich, but I'll take my chances.

1) a divise that automaticly pulls your pants out of your crouch in the car. Although it could be a desaster if it malfuctions.

TP for both you 2 posters. The 2 I quoted from Nick was what I had in mind too-well maybe not a computer 'replay' referee but a straight up robot referee which is probably what you had in mind anyway, and the one from celts55 I've never thought about, but sounds very useful to me  ;D

Now as for my idea...how about a invention inventor? :P

Anything is possible!!!
