With any luck this will become the official "Dude, What's up with you picture?" thread.

Like many of you -- perhaps all of you -- I have from time to time looked at a person's uploaded image and wondered, "hmm interesting, I wonder what inspired that particular photo to be chosen and uploaded?"

Whether the picture be a Celtic related image or perhaps a pop culture related image, I've wondered why some of us have picked whatever image to represent themselves.  Ranging from cdif911's orange T Rex to the vast collection of clowns Redz shares with us, I'm curious about the inspiration and connection.

Share with us why you chose the picture you chose or perhaps kindly speculate about an image that intrigues you.  My guess is, is that this could be kind of fun and informative all at the same time.

As for me, my last two photos have been Celtics images and this time around I was looking at a U2 image and ended with a peace sign.......although I am thinking about going back to the Bird / Magic print.

I love my kids - Call me a sap, but it's true.

I wanted something animated. Honestly, my current pic is the one I liked the most although it has nothing to do with the Celtics.

Good timing.  I was actually just uploading some pics to photobucket when I came across this gem from last Spring.  The afternoon before the opening game of the playoffs my dog chewed through a green bouncy ball, which, when further ripped, made an excellent skull cap that was good for many chuckles from from my children.

The end result is now available for a limited visual engagement as my sig (yes, I'm making a stupid face as well)...This may dispel the "Redz is an Evil Clown" theory once and for all, though it may add fuel to the fire of me just being a plain old clown.

My picture is up as a constant reminder to me of what happens when you party naked.  Or possibly I'm just too lazy to change it.  8)

With mine, it's John Locke from LOST. A fantastic character who is intelligent, cocky and funny and is an enigma to all and skilfully evasive. Whether that's a mirror of my personality or not I'll leave that for the people that know me to decide...

As for the sig, it represents Manchester United winning the Champions League and obviously our beloved Celtics winning the NBA championship. Both happened a month apart and are moments that as a sports fan can never be topped. I'm still very much riding the wave of Kobe Bryant and John Terry's combined misery.

Jean Michel Basquiat is my favorite artist. I saw Untitled (Skull) as a part of the Broad Collection which was part of the Pop Art show at the MFA in Boston a few years ago.

It's an amazing painting in person.

As some may have noticed, my pic is the
"Where Raising 17 Banners Happen" tee.
I'm still trying to figure out how to
make a decent pic with my letters on it.
You know, like P2 has  :)
I'm just not that much into computer
programs, how they work, etc.
Oh, well, one day...

Thanks for the shoutout! Yes, the orange dinosaur is quite important, as I grew up just off of Route 1, and I have always enjoyed playing mini golf there; I even have an orange dinosaur t-shirt, it is pretty awesome I must say

As for Reggie Lewis is Watching - its obviously somewhat profound, but also the title to a 7L/ES song - and the song actually references when 7L was playing (not sure if this is real or made up) ball in the streets of Boston, and Reggie was actually there, watching the game...

Mine is a very poorly cropped picture of the jumbotron at the end of Game 6.  I had avoided having an avatar for so long, but I new that was the right one to finally go with.

  • Thanks Red
mine is a picture of the red statue at Faneuil Hall the day of the C's championship parade....the sun only hit the statue for a few minutes that day and I captured it in a picture. Yes the sun shined brightly on the Celtics that day.
