Are there any other college grads looking for work and find it extremely hard? I just graduated with a degreee in bio from a good liberal arts school and cannot find a single job. Ideally, I would love to work for an NBA team, although that is probably unlikely at this time. Oh well, if any one wants to help me out with ideas that would be great.
It sounds to me like you are a little confused about what you want to do. Speaking as someone who hires many recent graduates (and undergraduates) in large research lab...that is a huge turnoff for employers, and can end the interview process very prematurely.
I would recommend deciding what you want to do, and devise a plan on how to get there. Then set out to achieve it, and be honest about this plan when you are interviewing for jobs.
I know personally, I can smell someone who is just looking for a "job" from a mile away, and they don't get anywhere...and I don't think I am alone in that. When you are talking about a job in the sciences, we want people who actually want THAT job. Someone who can get something from the experience, and won't simply get bored after a couple months and move on.
If you really want to work for an NBA team, then figure out what you want to do with that team, and find a way to get into that field.
If you show the dedication, hard work, and most importantly, sense of direction, the jobs are out there for you. But if you are flaky, then there is too much competition to get anything good.
