Forgive me if this has been brought up, but why hasn't there been any consideration for Bonzi Wells? I know it's been documented on either Real GM or Hoopsworld, but he could be had a very reasonably rate and he would be a suitable replacement for James Posey.

its interesting NO ONE has taken a flyer on him at this point, you'd think a team like Toronto or Indy, on the verge of a playoff push perhaps would bring a guy like him in....

I like Bonzi for this team a lot. If they do sign him, it will be interesting to watch him and Darius fight it out for the back up swing spot.

Also, the Celts should go after Al Harrington next year.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
I really dont understand, except that owners are watching their money real close, why the team has not gone after a proven asset that can score points on the second team? Our closest oponents have all made their moves and we are sitting very much pat, except for 2 cosmetic changes (Bryant -Miles)that we have no idea what they can contribute with. Granted we dont know what goes on behind the scenes, but our owners do have a knack to keep us on edge. Nothing wrong with bringing Wells on board - after all, we had no qualms on bringing Scal on board. Im just baffled. We  were twice one loss away last year from being eliminated- its not like we ran away unopossed towards NĂºmero 16. I can understand us missing on Maggette because of his cost, but Bonzi should be in the ball park.

Oh Bozi is talented yes. I have a hard time seeing him in the Celtics. He does not have the best demeanor or attitude for this team. Anyways I dont think they have the money or the roster space for him. I say let him go elsewhere.

There are always cuts ? All the players are under contract, and who will get cut ? Don't see it happening.

At the very least, Darius' contract isn't guaranteed.

I can't wait to see where Bonzi ends up. He can be a very important addition for some team.

I think Detroit would be an excellent fit for Bonzi ... that would be a lovely bench. An 8 man rotation with Stuckey/Maxiell/Bonzi filling for the starting five. Then a bunch of intriguing options behind them with Afflalo, Herrmann, Kwame, Amir Johnson. One heck of a bench right there. Detroit could really use Bonzi's scoring punch, and his physical play on the wing against guys like Pierce. That would be a really nice fit for him too.

There's a bunch of other teams that would be a good fit for Bonzi. I'm amazed that several teams haven't made him a priority because he could be a difference maker.

As for the C's and Bonzi, as I've said before I'm not wild about the fit. I don't like the idea of having only one bench player in the rotation who can hit a jump shot. I think Tony and Bonzi would get in each others way, and both would be at their best next to another wing who can shoot. Still, he's a good player and interesting. Not wild about the fit but wouldn't be terribly unhappy with Bonzi signing here either, because he is talented and can be a difference maker.

Who i sort of agree with you here.It makes you wonder if there is something we all are missing in evaluating Bonzi these days?Maybe its because of his age to some teams, but i still see him being able to contribute in a big way.Thats why im thinking there is something we are not seeing. This subject seems to keep resurfacing every so msny weeks, and nothing is ever figured out. tp for your post anyhow.

I'll second that if we could get him in at the minimum! I doubt Miles will make it through training camp healthy, or enough so to look like he can add to this team. It would be nice but I am not holding my breath. I have said for months that Bonzi is the guy that should replace Posey once it looked like we weren't going to get him.

Bonzi only made 2.3 last season I believe, and this year their are no suitors.

Miles is the only guy that I can see getting cut. Wells will probably want a few mill to play somewhere this season and I'm pretty sure the C's aren't shelling out any extra cash.

I'd rather see Giddens and Walker play anyway.
