Time to resurrect an old and very popular thread.

What is the greatest ever TV show (non-animated) and why?

If you vote "Other" please state which TV show you had in mind and I will add it to the poll if it gets a sizeable amount of votes.

I voted for "Twin Peaks" for it's original and gripping storyline, as well as the hype surrounding the show during it's run-time and after.

Also, it inspired the likes of "LOST" and "The X-Files" which it deserves credit for.

I thought I was getting on a bit, thanks.

For the record, I do know a lot of those shows, but didn't find them good/popular enough to include on the poll. Like I said though, if a show gets a sizeable number of recommendations I'll edit the poll to include it.

my favorite is Cheers and I am quite fond of West Wing, but without a doubt, from the list provided MASH is the best and will outlive all others due to it being period neutral due to the war setting.

I think the best ever is All in the Family, it broke the mold for all shows and was a must watch every single week.

I can definitely relate to this, I love Will Smith. But I can't put that on a list of Best TV show's as it's too one dimensional. One of my favs though, no doubt.

I voted seinfeld, but the list should include

South Park, Curb your Enthusiasm, Deadwood,

and depending on if you want to include these types of shows: Sportscenter, Saturday night live, and Monday Night Raw

I personally think Seinfeld is one of the worst shows ever, a total waste of time, a half hour of complaining and whining.

Sorry, had to share.

Totally get it, its not for everyone...I personally can't sit through five minutes of MASH-it kind of feels like I'm watching an episode of Little House on the Prairie.

SNL is a great choice, depending on the cast, but it's had an amazing run.
