Get ready #8Walker Haters and Scalabrine Haters!! After looking through different threads and seeing completely off topic discussions going on, I was able to put together something to get people arguing over. Assuming that we could make the roster spaces/contracts match up, which player would you rather see coming off the bench for "x" amount of minutes per game; Antoine Walker(after getting into the best possible shape of his career for his age) or ........Brian Scalabrine?

The minutes can be argued about forever, but depending on which player Doc Rivers ended up with would determine his minutes. Walker would be a proven presence off the bench, while Scal is a player with more heart than skill. Even if Walker did come in(who is my vote between the two) I think he would still have to fight hard for minutes between Miles behind Pierce and Powe behind KG in certain situations. So yeah, Walker in shape all the way!

And for the record, we would have to get rid of another PF as well to make the acquisition of Toine make sense - (BBD preferably)    (#d 1-12 for the 12 man rotation)

1Rondo, 9House, Pruitt
2Ray, 7Tony, 12Giddens
3Pierce, 10Miles, Bill(NBDL)
4KG, 6Powe, 11Toine
5Perk, 8Pat0, ?*

*Another big, hopefully PJ Brown

Can't stop, Rondo!

considering scal may be one of the bottom 10 players in the NBA, Walker gets the spot all day, but considering we have to pay scal either way and neither guy is really gonna get minutes, I'll keep scal for now - bring Toine back as an assistant/community dude a la Dana Barros

No contest, Scalabrine is the better player.

I prefer a out-of-shape Scalabrine over a in-best-possible-shape Walker. At this point of their careers, they're not even that close.

I'm in shock. I understand ppl hating on Toine b/c he's let himself go since Miami won, but to be able to get him back in shape and get rid of Scal in any possible way(plus another PF) I expected at least a few ppl to see it. Scal's best years were in Jersey. He has no production for us besides towel waving. Players would actually guard Walker if he was about to hit the 3, or posting up in the paint..Scal would be deserted by himself with no one around and still miss. Give some love to #8.

Wow, Scal over Toine? my eyes must deceive.  Although Scal knows/understands his limited roll (which Toine never could) Walker is the better player in every single way, plus he brings the best out in Paul.

Wowey wow

Scali

With Walker, it is no longer just about being in shape.  His legs are shot.

Ok, Scal in not in shape for nearly 3 years now, so you might add (in shape) next to his name just like you did with 'Toine, and I would take a good/great rebounder and a guy who can actually make 50% of shots which are usually WIDE WIDE open.
Plus I think that the chemistry would go trough the roof and that Walker would bring the intensity that we may lack(ala. Heat) is some moments.
But everybody knows that Scal isn't going anywere so...

Can you add a perfectly healthy Darius Miles to the choices? That's more likely to be seen than an in-shape Antione.

how come your time machine only works one way though?

if were basing this on "in shape toin" I.e miami's title run, since he hasen't come close to in shape or realitvly useful since, why isn't this jersey scal vs. late celtic/heat toine?

They're both pretty terrible, but really, there's no question Scal's the better player.  It's not even necessarily that he IS that much better, but he's got a much better understanding of what he can and cannot do; he knows his limits.  Scal knows that he's there to play defense and to not screw things up; Antoine, in his heart of hearts, still seems to think he's an All Star.

again, why the one way time machine? scal 5 years ago was markedly better as well, since he got regular minutes.

Walker's a better player but Scal is a better fit for this team.
