Two questions:

Who wins an MMA style fight between these two beasts?

Who has better long term potential to be a solid contributor to the Green?

Well anyone that watches MMA would know that you can't read a book by its cover, it's about disciplines and style, not physique. Big Baby would shoot Powe all day but would Big Baby have any ground game? Leon would make a great Chek Congo type guy but who knows if he could lay a submission on anyone? I'd let stamina be the determining factor, Leon Powe, end of the second round, rear naked choke.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Leon Powe was freakin homeless man. You ever seen Bumfights? That man would MURDER Baby.

But I think as an actual NBA player, Baby will be better.

Depends on which one of them has Captain Lou Albano managing them.

Okay...so...to answer my own questions...

1) I'm going to have to take Leon Powe. He just seems like more of a warrior to me, and he is way more cut. Plus he did take that flurry of punches to the chest from KG.

2) While I am very concerned about Big Baby's ability to keep the weight off it seems to me like he has the higher ceiling (see the regular season games at Detroit and San Antonio). If he can get down to a stable weight between 260 - 270 I think he could be an impact player off the bench. So I'm taking Big Baby for the long haul.

Hmmmm...if one of them ends up dead from a steel cage match that would seriously inhibit his ability to contribute to the bench :D

I'll go with Powe on both counts, though Big Baby may end up sticking around as a Celtic longer.
Yup

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
1st. round, Big Baby comes out and can take a punch, Leon is strong and fast, a precision striker. Leon seems to be dismantling Big Baby with his technical style, suddenly Big Baby lands a massive body shot followed up by a clean head shot while Leon's hands are dropped, unfortunately for Big Baby, it comes right at the end of the first round.

2nd round, Leon has recovered from the hits he took to end the 1st round, and now is fighting more intelligently, not taking as many risks as he now has a new respect for his opponent. Big Baby is now fighting a more balanced fight, he isn't banking on one power punch any more is effectively counter punching and shoots on Leon and takes him down. Big Baby is gassed and the fight is quickly stood back up as Big Baby never advances his position. A lot of dancing ensues and the round ends with little further excitement.

3rd round, Big Baby is really winded now, he takes quite a few punches and a few leg kicks, he drives all his energy into the shoot and gets Leon down. Big Baby realizing he is down on points starts to get a little careless and leaves himself open, Leon wins by gogo plata in the third round.

Post fight, both thank God, and both have immense respect for one another, crowd is screaming for a rematch. Even though Leon wins, Big Baby goes on to be the bigger draw, as the crowds love his look and go-for-broke style of fighting.

well in a steel cage you could just climb out the top. plus, no one wants them to die... what you need is hell in a cell, baby vs. powe. and baby has the advantage due to his size.

Become Legendary.

has anyone seen Leon smile more than 5 times??
Davis might pound Leon early on but he'll get tired and leon has that inner mean thing going

havent posted in a while so now seems like a good time...

There is no doubt Leon Powe would DO WORK all over Big Baby.

Leon Powe is a beast, way more physical on the court and I can see that translating in the ring. Not to mention he grew up on the streets literally and I'm sure he held his own out there more than once.

Big Baby's only defense would be to sit on his head and hope he passes out.

Now that's what I call Suffocating defense.

This wouldn't even be a fair fight, Leon early in the second round.

Now if the match was Perk vs. Powe, now you're putting people in the seats and making a killing on pay-per-view!

FYI...  Wouldn't be the first time they rubbed elbows...
Thought I remembered this from last fall and found a link.

"Glen Davis - F/C - Celtics

Glen Davis took exception to two shots to the nose from teammate Leon Powe during practice on Saturday and the two had to be separated before anything else escalated.

Maybe that's why they call him Big Baby... Davis got his nose bloodied during the second incident, and yelled, "That’s two times. You hit me two (expletive) times." No punches were thrown but tempers definitely flared. Coach Doc Rivers wasn't concerned about the clash at all. "I don’t ever think it’s a big deal. Guys square off a lot in practice. It’s really no big deal. It’s a family."
