Is any1 tired of these Laker fans using the "when Bynum comes back" excuse. When I claim that the Celtics are 2-0 against the Lakers with Bynum they say that Pau Gasol wasn't there. When the Celtics won the championship they say that Andrew Bynum was injured and that if he wasn't than the Lakers would have been the 2008 NBA champions. Andrew Bynum (20 years old) did average a double double but against the Celtics he picked up as many fouls as points. Andrew Bynum just dominated teams like the Bulls, Sun (pre-Shaq), Warriors, Hawks, and other teams that had no real center. Andrew Bynum had a size advantage over those teams. Andrew Bynum is a better rebounder and interior defender than Gasol so the Lakers will be better next year with two 7 footers down low. But is Andrew Bynum enough to get the Lakers the championship in 2009? Tell me what you think?

O yeah and doesn't any1 remember Rondo playing horribly in games 3-5 because of a ankle injury and that Perkins only played 18 minutes a game during the series cause of a knee sprain and shoulder dislocation!

Bynum would have gotten absolutely eaten up by Perk in the finals.  While Bynum has some talent the kid is 20 years old, had about 2 productive weeks, and will be coming off a major injury.

Sure he has potential but so does Kwame Brown, Darko Milicic, and a ton of other high upside big guys drafted early.  While I dont know whether or not Bynum will become a good player...I do know Lakers fans love to use it as a crutch for why they didnt win.

2008 Lakers = Finals
2009 Lakers (w/Bynum)= Championship
Kobe= GOD

This is basically the philosophy of a Laker fan!

But what's their excuse for being the quietest home court "advantage" in the playoffs?

If we had Pollard we would have swept them silly.

Anyone recall Perk being a wee bit banged up for much of the series too...

Rondo twisted his ankle in game 2, and obviously Pierce spraining his knee and then Gasol trying to blind Ray in game 5.

Regardless of what they say, this was always going to be a dominant series. I expect much the same the next time these two teams meet.

Exactly.  We were the team that went through the injuries and adversity during that series, not the Lakers.  They had gotten that far without Bynum, not having him is not the reason that they lost.  I don't think he would've been good enough to go for 40 in Game 6 to make up the difference in that score.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

Having Bynum on that team makes the Lakers better.  The only question is fit; does Odom slide over to the 3, or come off the bench?  Either way, they should be more effectively -- particularly defensively -- than they were against the Celts.

People act like we destroyed the Lakers.  If we don't make a historic comeback -- or if the Lakes score a couple more buckets in theirs -- that series goes seven games.  Adding Bynum could have made a difference.

That doesn't devalue the Celtics championship in any way; the best team won.  However, I think Celtics fans deluding themselves into believing that Bynum wouldn't have had any impact whatsoever are as off base as those Lakers fans who think they would have handled the Celts easily with him.

Is anyone else tired of hearing Celtics fans complain about Lakers, and their fans?

Why are so many people so concerned with the Lakers and their fans?  The Celtics beat them.  It's over.

If the Celtics lost, we would be making tons of excuses too...thats what losing teams do.  Winning teams on the other hand should celebrate, and not dwell on the losers.

I don't know how far we will get next season, but I do not expect the Lakers to make the finals next year...

That's obviously because they don't have Scalabrine on the bench duh ;D

Also, it's funny a couple of my friends (fakers fans who think kobe's God) said that "if Game 2 and 4 had gone the other way, they would've won". I don't even know what to say, is that the dumbest thing you've ever heard or what?
Anything is possible!!!

Same thoughts here.  Bynum will of course make them better but how does their rotation and positions play out?
