It would be nice if the Celtics do something special to celebrate Red. Also number 17.

I'm sure they will.
It'll probably be "Goosebump
Night", followed by a big win  :)

On this same note, Len Bias's 22nd death anniversary coincided with Boston's game 6 win over the Lakers to win the NBA championship.

Screwy isn't it?

Just wanted to check some dates
to see if there were other screwy
coincidences. So I go to Wikipedia
to read a bit about this.
Lo and behold, it looks like some
Laker fan edited the Celtics article!
Check it out (it's at the top):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Celtics

He must be sad that all Kobe is getting
is an Olympic gold medal  ;)

EDIT: It looks like someone fixed it.
At the top it said:
"The worst team in the history of the NBA"
or something like that.
I logged in to correct it and when I went
to the page again, someone else had beaten
me to it. I don't mind though  :)

The 2004 World Series was clinched shortly after midnight on October 28th, 2004.  Game 4 of the 07 series was also on October 28th.  Most importantly my mom's birthday is October 28th.  What a day.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

Does your mother have a sense of the important historic events that she shares a day with? ;)

I think she does.  She's a Sox fan and is a big time Celtics fan.  I know that she knows how important October 28th, 2008 is, a ticket to that game is all she is asking for for her birthday.  Not the easiest task but hopefully we'll get to be there.

i would be surprised if they do anything significant.  more than likely, they will mention the significance of the date and red towards the organization during the ceremony.
