I'm a freshman in college this year down in North Carolina and I just wanted advice on the best way to watch games on my computer. I've looked at leaguepass but it says the games can be blacked out when its on NBAtv and i dont have that channel

Slingbox.  They're relatively inexpensive and they get the job done.

I have the feeling that next season we are gonna finally be able to have NBA Broadband separately from League Pass.
#18 is coming...

Yeah, it's ridiculous that it's not currently an option.

I just went through the same problem for my four years in college.  I don't know about yours, but at my school NBA League Pass was not an option if you live in a dorm because of the way the cable is setup and paid for.  So, the best I was able to come up with was to pay the $165 (or something like that) for NBA League Pass for my mom's house.  Then take her account information and use the online stream.

When the games are on NBA TV you just have to suck it up and watch ESPN Gamecast.

Now, if you want to get really complicated and get the online broadcast to your tv...there is a way to take the streaming game from your computer and run a wire to the tv and watch the game on the tv.  I don't know exactly how to do it, because my roommate would set that up. I'm sure someone with more computer experience on here would know how to do it and explain it.  It has something to do with the setting of a double monitor so you can see a different monitor on the tv then the computer and then you run like an S Cable or something like that.

That's the best solution I was able to come up with that was legal and reliable.  Hope that helps a little bit.

You would have to install the sling box on a free cable box in VT.  From there you would be able to stream the content to your pc or windows mobile device. (software separate I believe for mobile)

I'm pretty sure the newest model of sling can stream HD.  Too bad there's no app for the iphone.

The installation is complicated but there are tons of instructions and instructional videos online about it.  You have to install the box to their cable or satellite receiver and then you install the program on your computer.

Anytime you're on the internet anywhere in the world you can open the program and it will connect to your cable or satellite receiver back home.  You don't need to be watching the same channel like it was another satellite, either.

My buddy had one and we were able to watch every major American sporting event here in Seoul.  The quality wasn't amazing, but it worked.

Definitely Slingbox.  Buying NBA LeaguePass and then using your laptop for it is less expensive than buying the Slingbox, but the Slingbox you can take every channel with you, not just some basketball games and it won't run out at the end of the year.

It's not for future games but I've been spending time on Hulu to watch highlights from this past year:
