1 down, 1 to go for our needed rookie signings. The Celts had enough faith in them to draft them, now just sign them so we can see where there are holes to fill. No matter how good these 2 are though, we still need a true SF and big man C

The only problem with that is if we sign them we can't get both a true sf and a big man C. If we sign Walker you'd have to think that they'll try covering Paul's backup minutes between TAllen, the rookies and maybe Scal.

I think they will cross that bridge when they come to it.  They will give the kids a chance early in the season, and then, if they need to bring in reinforcements, they will make a trade, or cut someone to make room.

Now that our last real "holdout" type player is on board, its time to transcend Ubuntu and start the Family Matters era:

It’s a rare condition, this day and age,
To read any good news on the newspaper page.
Love and tradition of the grand design,
Some people say it’s even harder to find.
Well then there must be some magic clue
Inside these tearful walls

Cause all I see is a tower of dreams
Real love burstin’ out of every seam.
As days go by, we’re gonna fill our house with happiness.
The moon may cry,
We’re gonna smother the blues with tenderness.

When days go by, there’s room for you, room for me,
For gentle hearts an opportunity.
As days go by, It’s the bigger love of the family.

When you love life, life loves you right back

With the talent level(s) in question between Giddens and Walker, would it be such a sin for them to take a year before becoming contibutors?

In Walkers case, we have a very talented yet raw young player coming off multiple knee issues. I think if he sees the floor this year, it will be in garbage time at best. As to Giddens, he is definitely a talent and may see a couple of minutes per game but I think he only had one year of truly productive college ball. He has a bit to learn as well.

The best part about them beside talent IMO, is the obvious willingness to work and the desire. Walker is hungry, that much is obvious after falling into the second round. Giddens has something to prove after some negative press, that will feed his hunger as well. Both would love to prove a bunch of people wrong, I think Paul, Ray, KG, Eddie, and Doc will play off of those feelings to drive these guys. The learning curve is the key to the playing time/contributions. We have to give Giddens a big edge in that area due to experience. 8)
