Eh... this doesn't bother me that much. I mean, is the opinion that off the wall? The Lakers could be better next year (the return of Bynum) while the Celtics could get worse (replacing Posey and P.J. with two rookies and Patrick O'Bryant).
Also, to respond to the argument made above about us being younger than last season. That's true, in terms of average age. However, three of the four most important players on the team got a year older, and it's not unfair to suggest that they'll be incrementally worse. How far this squad goes depends upon the health and overall play of Paul / KG / Ray. If any one of those players seriously declines, none of Walker / Giddens / O'Bryant will be able to save us.
On the flip side, though, our young guys who have actually shown they can play (Rondo, Perk, Powe) will be one year more experienced, as well. If Rondo can improve, he can take a ton of pressure off of the "big three" to be as good as they were last season.
